It took him a little bit to kind of pick that up, but we so believed in him as a guy and his talent level that after a year, you could start to see it clicking. This was the last studio session of Papa Moi 🙏🏽 Mr Moses Matovu came to studio to meet us. What was supposed to be a 30 minutes talk turned into an entire afternoon of sharing experiences. It was a blessing to collaborate and see him at work. We worked on “Sikulimba”, on our @godlvl_ug Album. A song that the group had never allowed anyone to sample for 50 years. He commended the brotherhood we all shared. Appreciating it as he himself was from a group that has been 52 years in the making. I will never forget the appreciation, the advice, respect and humility. He was a fan from Half the Legend and a “big fan” by the time I released #Kigozi. Hearing these words changed my career. For those that took his life… you made a mistake that can never be forgiven. And had we been there you would’ve seen the meaning of brotherhood. We took him as an Uncle, a brother, a friend. For now we mourn a legend. Mr Moses Matovu… Papa Moi… my friend… Rest In Power 🙏🏽
