It’s not that the middle class grudge their tax payments even though it is excessive (which is indisputable) but they sorely suffer day-to-day the corruption of the IAS and bureaucrats, and the gazillion ways it impacts them (of which you have rightly listed a few) . There is a need to disband this group and democratize the administration to domain experts, who are not exam experts, and want only to serve the country, on a basis that is not career-based, and not money-based. There is crying need to eliminate this corruption, inefficiency, criminal nexus, in India which has metastasized as “govt service”. Only by breaking its citadel, namely the exam-beating IAS, and converting it into a voluntary service of experts with a selfless-heart, which is fundamentally incorruptible and service oriented in its final thought, that the nation will emerge successful. When they can lick the success off a god-given leader like Hon PM Modi, others cannot come anywhere near setting the system right; so only a majority Sarkar with true leaders at the political helm, can make this happen. For this again , it’s the people of india electing the right leaders is necessary and essential, which has been miraculously done, but now these leader have to be unforgiving in breaking the corruption of the highest breaking India-force, that is super-organized steel-frame govt-servantship and their underlings of the massive bureaucracy. Imagine a govt as clean and as efficient as the best of the private sector! Is this possible? I am advocating social security scheme for tax payer community since last 15 years. Individual will get a portion of his tax payment as tax credit which will get accumulated for years and will get pension after a certain period like after completion of 65 years. I have ready plan with data. Can share who raise this issue

Apart from the issue you raised of paying taxes Let's take a note on how civilized we ourselves are Give good roads ..still people will spit .. throw garbage..smoke from their vehicles Give lane driving stil they will over take and will do speeding Give clean parks still they will go for walk and litter around Give them toll free ....they won't even follow the line Give clean hospital they will sleep where ever and eat and throw garbage Give clean blankets in train they will steal n tk it home Even before we think of taxes we should think of civic sense

A basic civic reminder: 👉​Local roads, water supply, sewage & municipal sanitation: State/Municipal jurisdiction. ​👉 Central Taxes (Income Tax): National highways, defense, railways, and strategic infrastructure. Blaming direct income tax for local municipal governance issues while ignoring the massive national infrastructure growth you used to praise is sheer political convenience.

Completely in agreement !! Middle class pays heavy taxes in fact 40-50% of his earning goes in form of tax !! What we get ? nothing !! Social security is missing for tax payer.

Civic roads, drinking water, and municipal sanitation fall strictly under State Governments & Local Municipalities, not the Union budget. Meanwhile, tax revenues collected by the Centre are building world-class national highways, high-speed rail, digital public infrastructure, and modern airports the very infrastructure you were celebrating until yesterday.

It’s high time these issues are addressed, start with - 100% Tax exemption on education & hospital fees paid by salaried class. Anyway govt is doing so for other group who are not paying a single penny in tax.

You sat with the very leaders who collect taxes from the middle class for four months every year and deliver neither clean air, nor safe water, nor world-class infrastructure, nor an end to corruption. You stayed silent then. You left the party later. And only now, from the outside, do you suddenly find the courage to demand that personal income tax be abolished until the government actually delivers what it promises

Income Tax Trap which no one is noticing. There is absolutely zero accountability with the taxes paid and its utilisation curve by the Govt. The real life analysis of a salaried individual falling under tax slab recives multiple reminder during Jun-Jul to credit Govt accounts. Every penny earned,even that 09 rs dividend credited to your account gets accounted by the Govt. The Rental income, short term gains, innterest amount,remittances any sort of gain gets updated against your PAN which ultimately makes you a worthy eligible man. This most eligible Taxable guy usage road with potholes, did not get water during summers, his house gets submerged with water during monsoon, if he plans to travel he receives delayed departure message after reaching the platform, if he cancells the ticket reverse UNO charges get paid to exchequer, he pays for adhaar card address update, passport issuance charges, for getting a standing ovation in local train he pays for the pass, during the month ends salary he is informed of mandatory deduction for some Care Fund to fund the upcoming elections compaign. While going through all these never ever he dares to question the Govt about his taxes spendings by them. Let Govt give individual the leverage of providing spent of each collected tax penny from Spending on purchasing Rafael, ISRO mission to salary of Govt servants with some capitalisation or rather disclosure of MP/ MLA salary and Horse Trading investment. Let the Govt be held accountable to that most eligible tax payer as Govt tracks his every single penny. Atleast this is the least one could expect .

Personal income tax is one of the main sources of revenue for the Government. Moreover the current IT exemption of 12 lacs is very reasonable. Bad roads, corruption, pollution are not necessarily in the purview of Central Gov. Why not make Municipalities & State Governments more accountable than raising a false narrative & rhetoric.

The cost of being productive is simply too high. It exacts a heavy toll on both physical and mental well being and you end up paying for every single thing you consume. In contrast remaining non productive unlocks free rations, free health insurance and a generous bouquet of freebies handed out during elections.

How many taxes will they axe. We are the holy cow and we pay with not a single murmur. The system is for the rich and the poor. Rich gives money for funding elections and poor gives votes. All transactional.
