Farmers in Nyazvidzi, Gutu are complaining against the use of Gutu - Buhera earth road by Chinese haulage trucks enroute to Beira from Sino-run Bikita Minerals. What infuriate farmers is that Sino Mine does not contribute anything to the maintenance of the road. The trucks leave the earth road heavily damaged and only usable by all-terrain vehicles. Recently vehicles could not pass through the road for almost 2 weeks after a haulage truck ferrying minerals from Bikita got stuck in the middle of the road. A road engineer said Gutu-Buhera Road used to be classified as a gravel road but it has since been downgraded to an earth road because of poor maintenance. No haulage truck can use an earth road because of weight. Bikita Minerals Spokesperson Collen Nikisi tried to dissociate his company from the haulage truck but the goods carried had the company's logo. Miles Stoker road closure : Sinkhole due to illegal mining activity The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has, with immediate effect, closed one lane of Miles Stoker Road in the Roodepoort direction due to a sinkhole which has developed because of illegal mining activity in the area, including tunnelling beneath the road surface. For safety reasons, the northbound carriageway along Miles Stoker Road, between Main Reef Road and Roodepoort, is temporarily closed. Traffic is diverted onto the southbound carriageway until further notice. Additional closures may be introduced to ensure safety of the public #JoburgRoadSafety #JHBTraffic ^NB

Gao Junction Ibiade Road is nearing completion in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area as the Ogun State Government confirms significant progress on the project. Governor Dapo Abiodun explained that the reconstruction was initiated to address the long-standing challenges faced by motorists and residents along the route, particularly around the Igele Bridge area which had for years slowed movement and affected economic activities. According to the governor, the road project has been substantially completed, with lane markings remaining as the final stage before full completion. Once finished, the road will improve connectivity between communities in Ogun Waterside, support the transportation of agricultural produce, and provide easier access to nearby towns and markets. He added that the Gao Junction Ibiade Road project reflects the administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure across all parts of the state while boosting economic growth and improving the lives of residents. Responding to complaints from residents in Parklands, where a developer routinely closes one side of the road with his cement truck, spilling wet concrete on the road causing damage and completely damaging the road drainage system, we took action by towing the truck to our yard and also we shall ensure compliance by requiring the developer to fix the drainage system.
