I watched this when it first aired on BBC. Thanks to Tinternet we can see it again 50 yrs later. I seem to remember the same *2nd House* music & arts series had a performance of Alexis Korner's CCS big band. I wonder if that still exists somewhere out there?

Tubular Bells, by Mike Oldfield (1973). The first album released by Virgin Records, this was a slow burn given its unique sound: complex instrumentation, a unique time signature, no lyrics and 49 minutes long. But it's rightly a classic. Mike Oldfield performed a condensed version live at the BBC in November 1973 (though it was broadcast in January the following year) and it's a fantastic watch. Vivian Stanshall from the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band introduces the instruments at the end.
