On May 4, Trump claimed companies "eat the tariff" and it's "not passed along at all." Now his own former VP is forced to translate: the admin is serving Americans the "largest peacetime tax hike in history." The script was always fiction. This "largest peacetime tax hike" costs families over $3,500 a year. The admin's new permanent tariffs are nearly 10x the size of the first term's, hitting allies like Canada (35%) and Japan (25%). It's the casino model of governance: the house takes its cut, the public covers the losses. The ultimate paradox: an economic war on the world, funded entirely by the citizens it claims to protect.
