Stablecoin payouts are live on deel for employees. Over 5 years ago, I joined deel as the first payments hire. I spent the first few years building out the fiat payment infrastructure that moves billions to workers across 150+ countries. The more I watched money move, the more I saw how broken cross border payments are. Stablecoins fix this. 10,000+ contractors already get paid in stablecoins on deel. Today we’re extending this to full-time employees. This is how payroll should be.

Polygon's Network Has Somehow Become EVEN FASTER! According to data from Chainspect, Polygon | POL has set a new record for TPS at some 2,197. The milestone comes just two days after $POL set its previous TPS record. Indexing heavily into stablecoins and payments, Polygon is fast-becoming a household name in the crypto sector. What more does the team have planned for 2026...?!

BIG: Alpenglow starts rolling out on Solana testnet this week. ⚡ It targets ~150ms finality, down from roughly 12.8 seconds today, that means faster confirmations for payments, trading, bridges and apps. $SOL already feels fast. Alpenglow makes that speed final.

There are many cryptocurrencies, each designed to serve a unique purpose. XRP is designed to help move money quickly and efficiently. It’s often discussed in the context of payments that settle faster and with lower fees than traditional systems. XRP can also act as a bridge between different currencies, helping value move from one place to another without relying on multiple intermediaries. Faster settlement and lower costs can make payments more accessible for businesses, institutions, and everyday users around the world.

Get paid in stablecoins, spend on Mastercard: Zebec rolls out payroll on Stellar Zebec (Zebec Network) just put enterprise payroll on Stellar (Stellar). Employers can stream salaries and contractor payments in stablecoins, landing instantly in workers' wallets. From there, you can spend via Zebec's Mastercard-linked cards, or cash out to local currency through a global payout network. The pitch is real-time pay with a built-in off-ramp, wrapped in an HR dashboard for global teams. Per Zebec, several European institutions and multinational employers are already in final testing on the rails. Your payday on-chain once the pilots convert?

Stablecoin on-chain transfer volume crossed $33T last year. Many people still associate stablecoins with crypto speculation. But a growing share is tied to real-world payments: → Cross-border B2B payments → Merchant payments & settlement → Faster global settlement → 24/7 transfers that don't stop for weekends or holidays The speculation narrative is old. The infrastructure narrative is just getting started. #KONET

Stellar's latest upgrade is already showing up in the numbers... Stellar (Stellar) now closes blocks in about 5 seconds, down from around 5.7 seconds since Protocol 28 went live on Sept. 16. Mainnet throughput is up about 10% to 15%, per Build on Stellar. The stellar:native network hit 216.1 transactions per second across 100 consecutive blocks, and some smart contract calls now run up to twice as efficiently, making those less costly.

I've had some replies that this Pete Crow-Armstrong catch IS actually a routine play, so here is a VERY similar play: The CF has the exact same distance to cover, and .2 of a second longer to get there. The CF (Carroll) was faster on the play, by about a foot per second. It's a double:

Sui moved $65B in stablecoins in 5 days. Its total supply is $472 million. Sui (Sui) cleared roughly $65 billion in stablecoin transfers over the past 30 days, fee-free. The catalyst: a May protocol change that zeroed out transfer fees and dropped the need to hold sui:native to move funds, per CertiK data. The number that reframes it: Sui's standing stablecoin supply is only about $472 million. So this isn't a flood of new capital, it's the same dollars recirculating fast as payments, exactly what the gasless design was built to do. Mysten Labs' pitched it as a settlement rail for businesses and AI agents, with Fireblocks already plugged in.

KASPA'S 2026 PIVOT: PAYMENTS RAIL TO PROGRAMMABLE L1 Kaspa is shifting categories this year. The proof-of-work BlockDAG that runs at 10 blocks per second now has a roadmap pushing it from a fast payments chain into a programmable base layer. Igra Network went live in March as a decentralized EVM execution layer on top of Kaspa, hitting 3,000 transactions per second with 15 protocols deployed at launch and a clean Sigma Prime audit. KAS wraps 1:1 to iKAS as the network's gas token. The Toccata hard fork follows in June. It bundles native KRC-20 tokens, covenants, and zero-knowledge verification opcodes into Layer 1 through a new scripting language called SilverScript. $KAS trades around $0.036 with a $985 million market cap, up 12% on the week. Roughly 95% of the 28.7 billion supply is already mined. DAGKnight consensus is queued for Q3.

A traveler taps her card at a market thousands of miles from home. The payment feels instant, simple, straightforward. It’s not. Behind that tap, money may need to move across currencies, banks, payment providers, and borders. Traditional systems often require companies to park funds in local accounts before they are needed, leaving capital stagnant for long periods of time where it’s not able to earn a return or be put to work. Members of the Avalanche Payments Collective are building a more efficient global payments model, one that keeps capital productive up until the moment it needs to move. Here are five members working across different parts of cross-border payments and treasury infrastructure: Axiym provides payment and treasury infrastructure that helps institutions route liquidity and settle transactions without pre-funding every market. Its technology supported Hyundai Motor America’s stablecoin payment to its Mexico affiliate, completed on Avalanche in minutes instead of days. Nonco helps institutions exchange currencies and stablecoins by requesting prices directly from a network of professional liquidity providers. That gives them access to more competitive rates while allowing both sides of the transaction to settle together onchain. SMBC, Japan’s second-largest bank, is exploring stablecoin infrastructure for wholesale institutional payments. It is also working alongside MUFG and Mizuho on a potential yen-pegged stablecoin initiative built on Avalanche. StraitsX is working with KBank through Project BLOOM to develop payment infrastructure that can improve settlement across Southeast Asian corridors where moving money remains particularly slow and expensive. AeraTech helps multinational companies manage cash across subsidiaries, offset internal obligations, and settle inter-company payments without unnecessarily routing every transaction through external banks. These different companies all represent or engage with different parts of the payment and treasury stack. But they all have a shared goal: keep capital working longer, move it when it is needed, and make cross-border payments faster and more efficient. That is what the Avalanche Payments Collective is bringing together. Frictionless, borderless payments that really are instant, simple, and straightforward.
