In this case, Whoopi is mostly correct. Older generation did things according to what they could AFFORD! Newer generation do things based on what OTHER PEOPLE THEY ADMIRE DO! Things like go to major colleges instead of staring out at community college, etc because they think they SHOULDN’T have to! Older generation rode the bus, bought older cars, cooked and didn’t eat out, rarely went to a movie, worked a couple of jobs, had roommates, etc. Think about this: Latinos made even FAR LESS and MANAGED to buy homes. FTR, $1900 might be the AVERAGE cost of apartment where you are but is NOT the cheapest place you can find. You HAVE TO do some things you don’t want. Lifting 100 lbs is easy to the person that has had to carry a 200lb load most of their life but lifting even 10lbs is difficult for the one that has never had to carry ANYTHING! It’s hard at first to lift what’s heavy but if you keep lifting daily, you get STRONGER daily. #My2Cents
