The following footage has been slowed down and stabilized. Border Patrol agents could be seen trying to pin the man down before a shot was fired. The agents then appeared to scatter and fire on the man.

A preliminary report to Congress from Customs and Border Protection obtained by CBS News says two CBP agents opened fire during the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti. The report says that while Pretti was on the ground, a Border Patrol agent repeatedly yelled, “He’s got a gun,” but it makes no mention of Pretti reaching for a firearm in his waistband. Matt Gutman reports.
