Dr. Tracy Høeg (Tracy Beth Høeg, MD, PhD) tells Congress that the highest quality scientific evidence has consistently shown that masks do not work, school closures were not necessary, and six feet of distancing was not based on science: "We've had evidence prior to the pandemic that masks were largely ineffective at preventing community transmission of influenza and other upper respiratory viruses, and we did not obtain any new high-quality evidence during COVID-19 that masks are an effective mitigation strategy. We have several confounded observational studies, many of which were actually published by the CDC, that have severe flaws in them, that unfortunately led people to believe that masking children was going to be effective and necessary to keep children in schools. But the highest quality data we have, for example, from a Cochrane review of randomized studies, has not found evidence that masks are effective. Ontario's schools need more adults. We need more EAs and more educators in our schools to keep students safe and help them learn. Children in Grade 6 were in Kindergarten when the Ford government took office. EQAO scores are on their watch, and this government is failing our kids. That is why Ontario-Liberals are calling on the Ford government to invest $1 billion in new education funding so boards can hire the staff students rely on every day. Students should not have to pay the price for underfunding. It is time to give them the support they deserve.

In my administration, we will raise student achievement and lower time spent on screens. That means working with school districts to limit time spent on screens — whether it's a computer or a tablet — and removing cell phones from classrooms, except for emergencies. We can allow our kids to have the face-to-face interactions they need for social and emotional learning while still giving them the technical skills they need to succeed in the 21st century. As Governor, I will use proven, evidence-based approaches to drive real results for our students.

one of my favorite aspects of this new work is that it is generative, not based on an arbitrary random number, but based on the chaos of real life. the physical sculpture is constantly pulling in news and real-time data from all over the world and the NFT is updated daily as well with this hectic collage of information overload... i believe in the future more work will be dynamic like this allowing us to reimagine real-time data in new ways based on different events happening in the world...

Both parties have gotten sidetracked on the education metrics that matter by engaging in culture wars – whether it be bathroom access or what topics we can teach in schools. We need to nationalize the 'Mississippi Miracle' and 'Alabama on Math' models to improve our kids’ reading and math scores. I refer to this as TART: ✅Technology (to make kids ready for AI disruptions) ✅Attendance (to tackle the significant absentee rate post-COVID) ✅Reading (using the Mississippi Miracle doctrine) ✅Truth (to ensure parents know their kids' progress based on national standards) I spoke with Megyn Kelly about where we have gone wrong in education and what we can do to fix it.

8.5 million people in the UK struggle with basic reading and writing. This hits our poorest communities the hardest and traps too many people in a relentless cycle of economic exlusion. That’s why this morning I spoke on Jeremy Vine about redirecting funding from ESOL towards improving literacy for people in Lincolnshire. The current system isn’t working as it should. It’s time to rethink how we support people in Lincolnshire on improving their literacy. I’m creating a new approach that delivers better results, focuses on practical English language skills, and makes sure taxpayers can see the difference their money is making in their communities.

GM. #NoStrollers parenting has been the focus of this page and will remain so but going forward I will be adding several other parenting foci that have had profoundly positive and important impacts on my children and family. 1. *Socratic dialogue*. Thanks to Michael Strong Michael Strong for showing the way here and helping our family wield this proven, powerful, free educational (and relationship building) too. Shout out to Socrates, too. I will be sharing clips and links to the YouTube page that Michael and my now 12 year old daughter have been building since Alana was 3.5 demonstrating the what, why, how, and IMPACT of Socratic dialogue. Here is the Michael-Alana YT, and a recent representative clip is attached. 2. *Early Childhood Literacy*. If you are unaware, literacy levels in the USA are deplorable. The 'reading gap' is an active tragedy mentally crippling more than half of the young people in America. As a parent to be I was determined my child would be a a strong and early reader. Drawing upon my time as a volunteer reading tutor to 4th and 5th graders (!!) In San Diego, I composed alternate lyrics to the ABC song about how to read (the mechanics of reading), dubbed 'The Secind Verse to the ABCs.' My wife and I sang this verse to our children as often or more than any other kids song. We sincerely believe the 'Second Verse' strongly contributed to our children reading and comprehending chapter books by age 4. Reading well at a young age opened the world for them, as it did for me as a child. Almost nothing matters more than fostering a love of learning and strong reading skills at a young age. I hope you will sing and widely share the Second Verse. A few years ago I published a children's book of the same title featuring child-led Socratic dialogue to teach reading, and I will be sharing that as well (foreword by Mark Victor Hansen -- ty again Sir -- and afterword by Michael Strong). A soft cover version is available on Amazon and I have a couple hundred original hardcovers available too (DM me if interested). In the meantime, teach and sing the Second Verse to children! 3. *Healthy Kids Food". We raised children whose default is enjoy healthy foods including liver and sardines.
