MiSTer FPGA now has proper HDMI CEC support for some third-party hardware. Sorgelig spent a lot of time massaging the implementation I submitted. There are still some bugs but it's making progress. Features include power/wake/sleep display, device name advertising (MiSTer FPGA), and menu navigation. Maybe I'll make some hardware... show more

AI models pushing the frontier are a growing challenge for cybersecurity. A few weeks ago, I asked Demis what's underhyped in AI right now and on his mind: "I'm very excited about this new agentic era and you can see us leaning into that" "But of course we've also gotta think about the security side of that, too" "You're seeing it a little bit with the cyber worries about some of the models, and I think that's just the beginning of some of the issues that we need to make sure we guard against" "So I think that's playing a little bit on my mind. Maybe this is the time now to try and push some standards and maybe international cooperation"

This woman explains how she no longer pays for chicken in America “The department of US Weights and Measurements says that products must meet the weight that's on the packaging. Well, I don't know if you weigh your meat, but I do. I would say it's maybe 1 out of 10 packages actually meet the weight that's on the label.” “For example, the meat that I just bought, it says that there should be 3.97 pounds in there, and there was 2.6 pounds. So I call, I reported all information on this label, and within a day or 1-4 days, I'll get a check in the mail for the price that I pay for this meat.” “Some people call me cheap, some people call me. I don't know names for doing this, but I believe that if A package says 3.97 pounds, there should be 3.97 pounds of meat. And that is without the packaging. Companies are not supposed to include that in their measurements. So weigh your meat next time and you'll be surprised that you are getting ripped off as well.”

“So do you source like super organic food?” “We've been testing foods for the past couple of years.” “We have found that organic is kind of worthless.” “Are you for real?” “Yeah, for real.” “Some of the foods that have the worst toxin profile are organic.” “I have been lied to.” He's 100% right. Organic is a scam. There are over 800 substances used in organic farming, including pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides. A lot of these are 100% synthetic, but the food is still labeled as organic because apparently some synthetic chemicals are a necessity. Last I checked, we don't need any synthetic chemicals to grow food so it seems a bit misleading to me.
