🚨Modelling Challenge🚨 How would you model a sphere with a bunch of circular cutouts? Main thing is that it needs to subdivide nicely and have clean shading. Share your results and method in the comments. 👇 #Blender3D #BlenderModeling #HardSurfaceModeling #B3D

Very nice! I think I like this approach more than my own solution. A clean and simple approach that doesn’t require any additional steps for the shading. 😄 Great attempt mate, really like this one. 💪

Can Machine Learning beat the market? Check out this post on my free Substack where I share code and commentary for an XGBoost model and a Random Forest model that both deliver powerful performances.

This way is fun... it only has that tiny piece of mesh (but it will produce poles) Other way would be starting from a cube...

Oh wow, this is a very clever solution! This is my favourite part of these challenges, seeing the different ways in which people approach them. As there always a handful that just blow me away. 🤯 Superb attempt mate. 💪

I love the more even distribution of circular cutouts that you achieved on this version. 😄 It’s been amazing seeing all the different approaches that people have taken to this challenge. So many ways in which it can be achieved that I wasn’t aware of. 😄

The versatility of applications in this method is unreal! So clever and goes well beyond the bounds of my knowledge. 😄

I sometimes recreate these little challenges in Modo. You can do it 'direct' in Modo (basically exactly like Blender) or with procedural 'MOPs' - like this.
