Timothée Chalamet is going back to the #Oscars just one year after being nominated for Best Actor for A Complete Unknown. Back-to-back Oscar nominations are rare, but to do it at Chalamet’s age is even more special. If he wins in March, it’ll elevate him to a historic group.

MOVIE REVIEW: ‘Marty Supreme’ 97/100 - Best movie of 2025, and Timothee Chalamet should be a lock for the Oscar. It’s fast-paced, wild ride, with different emotional & comedic flair from other movies in Safdie library. Elite. My full Letterboxd review:

Timothée Chalamet should already have an #Oscar for A Complete Unknown & Leonardo DiCaprio should win the award this year. Unfortunately, we can’t go back in time. And now, it appears the Academy is going to deny Leo the award when I believe he deserves it. We’ll see.

Robert Downey Jr. reveals the exact phone call where his dad refused to send him $5 and told him to grow up "I called him up. I said, 'Dad, I need five bucks.' He goes, 'No, get a job.'" "He goes, 'Call one of your friends. It's time for you to grow up.' I was like, 'No, I don't want to grow up.' And he put it down, and then I wound up getting a job." [Robert Downey Jr.]: "There really needs to come a moment when you realize that gravy train is over and you got to go make something of yourself."

Before making $80 million for less than an hour of screen time in the next Avengers movie, Robert Downey Jr. cut a fine line as nerdy sidekicks in comedies like Back to School (1986). Here he is, back when he had his own teeth.

Tom Holland was one of the first people Robert Downey Jr. told about playing Doctor Doom. “I hung up the phone [and told Zendaya], ‘Downey’s coming back!’ It’s really exciting.” “When I do get to grace that set, I’m so curious of what does that mean for Peter.”

Robert Downey Jr. was once a risk-taker. Trust me. There was a time & there was a place where RDJ didn’t just constantly retreat to the MCU. It felt like 2023 was turning a corner for Downey after winning the Oscar. I thought we’d get more films like Sherlock Holmes. Instead? A return to a world he already knows (and a return to the bank for RDJ).

Chris Evans says Marvel pitched him a dozen times over to return until they told him Robert Downey Jr. was back Chris :"When we finished Endgame in 2018 Lou and Kevin took me to dinner and said we'd love to keep doing movies with Steve Rogers as Nomad...They showed me a pitch but for whatever reason it just didn't feel right at the time" "over the course of eight years I probably heard at least a dozen pitches...They were all wonderful but It just never quite felt right" "And then I got a phone call from my team saying there's a rumor Downey talking to Marvel and I was like it felt right this time"
