For the group's edification, this is a federal requirement and has been part of federal motor carrier safety regulations since 1937.

Acknowledging proficiency in areas that are directly and seriously linked to public safety does have a racial connection, then suggesting that no corrective action should be taken because it's "racial profiling" seems not only odd, it's unequivocally stupid.

States do not have the authority to override federal motor carrier regulations. What democrats are doing would make state to state driver license reciprocity impossible. They are so committed to their illegal alien / work visa base, that reality does not matter to them at all.

Former truck driver here. Yes the English Proficiency requirement should be enforced. I have witnessed a few occasions where a "truck driver" hit bridges, and even went onto a highway on ramp going the wrong way,because they didn't understand or read english.

How is asking about enforcing the English language in commerce related to racial profiling? Is he insulating if you are not white it’s mostly expected that you don’t speak English? Hence, asking or enforcing English as a primary language in America is deemed “racists.” 🙄

Not all illegal truck drivers are poc, many are actually white, but equally illegally in this country. It has nothing to do with race.

My neighbors are from Cuba and Guatemala and they speak perfect English --- Steyer is a hypocrite of the first order
