And I do feel like this is a BIG issue in the community where a lot us define our understanding of docus on dinosaur docus alone, instead of taking the time to actually sample other topics, and its kinda muddied the waters when its time for broad critiques and discussions

To put things into perspective, there is an ISSUE, when there was a brief back and forth in the community, because there was section of people who shat on Prehistoric Planet because its narrative structure wasn't exactly like Walking with Dinosaurs

There's literally a documentary dramatasing predator prey relationships called The Hunt

Hell I don't even think you need to see a docu you can walk into a forested area or near a stream and see a small piscivore struggle to keep its meal and forests are a struggle even on their own small or big animals

A lot of nature docu’s kinda borrow some tricks, like the editing and cuts can sometimes give it away but there’s reasons why some animals are good for the camera’s when hunting and those that are not Hell sometimes you might not even be following the same hunt

Part of it is bias toward large animals, too. Baby marine iguana vs snakes is as good as it gets.

yeah, i mean just because it's not represented well in paleo docs doesn't mean it does not exist. we have fossil evidence that dinosaurs did often struggle when hunting prey.
