President Trump just declared that Canada has been ripping off the United States for years. He cited ridiculously high tariffs on American farmers that created a $60 billion trade deficit. Starting January 1, 2027, tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks, auto parts, and steel will jump to 50%. Trump said Canada will no longer be treated like a U.S. state and reminded them that they need us far more than we need them. A major shift in trade policy is coming.
