While he and his iconic #Subaru Impreza 555 earned a God-like standing in world rallying, the Scotsman also made an impressive appearance at #LeMans in 2004, finishing third in the GTS class in this Prodrive-prepared #Ferrari 550 Maranello. In the same year, McRae was reunited with this V12-powered monster at #FOS and climbed the Goodwood Hill in the only way he knew how: VERY quickly.

Just finished Gad Saad’s Suicidal Empathy and it hit me like a truck .this is exactly what’s wrong with the West . Remember that scene in the 2004 movie I, Robot (inspired by Isaac Asimov) ? Car plunges into the river. A man and a 12-year-old girl are drowning. The robot runs cold calculations: the man has a 45% chance of survival, the little girl only 11%. So it saves the man and lets the girl die. Will Smith’s character is disgusted. “You let her die?!” The robot replies without a shred of emotion: “I calculated the odds.” That robot was more sane than modern Western civilization. Today we’ve gone full suicidal empathy - we don’t calculate odds at all. We’re drowning in deranged, misplaced compassion. We protect criminals over victims, invaders over citizens, feelings over facts, and the 11% case every single fucking time. We’d rather watch our entire society sink than be accused of not being “kind” enough. The robot wasn’t the monster. We are. We’ve replaced survival instinct with performative, self-destructive kindness • and we’re proudly marching toward civilizational suicide while patting ourselves on the back for being so virtuous. A society that cares more about infinite empathy than its own survival is a society that deserves to die. And we’re sprinting toward exactly that. Read the book. Wake up.

19 Year old Kobe POSTERIZES Wizard’s Ben Wallace and creates a monster 🔥 Backstory: Nick Van Exel still remembers what Kobe Bryant said during a preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakersand the Washington Wizards in 1997: "Kobe told us, 'I'm about to cross this fool up and dunk on him'… and he did it!" Right after that huddle, the then-sophomore Bryant did exactly what he said and posterized then-Wizards center Ben Wallace. It became one of Kobe's greatest career highlights. But little did everybody know; the play poked the bear. "Without that dunk, I don't know if I'm the player that I am today. After that, I told myself 'Ben, that's never gonna happen again,'" Wallace said via "And you know what? It didn't," he continued. Since being dunked on in that preseason game, Wallace made it a mission to stop every player who would try to go up and disrespect him as Kobe did. Víctor Erice explains how "Spirit of the Beehive" (1973) which was to be about 'Frankenstein' changed to a Civil War story: "How do you arrive at a story? Chance intervenes. I believe a great deal in chance. I’d received a proposal to make a film about 'Frankenstein', but actually in that genre. It was to be a completely commercial project. I was desperate to make my first film and I’m very obedient, so I started writing a conventional Frankenstein movie. But then chance intervened in my favour because that kind of film needs a lot of sets, and well-known actors, and the producer had to admit he didn’t have enough funds. So I then proposed a Spanish version of Frankenstein – not so extravagant, without big sets, only four weeks filming. He liked that idea. But now I found myself with a major problem. I wasn’t sure what to do. On my work desk I had a picture I saw every day, which I’d cut out, from Whale’s 'Frankenstein' (1931): the moment when the monster and the child are together. Then I realised that everything I needed was there in that image. So I called upon my own personal experiences. But I felt that the identification with the child – and with the film – would be far greater if the child was a girl. And so gradually the story began to unfold." The financier of "Monster" (2003) had no idea what movie they were making. He thought he was making a "hot Charlize Theron, Christina Ricci, lesbian love, sex movie". One night, he called Charlize Theron who was also the producer of the movie, after seeing some of the dailies, he told her that she looked terrible & wasn't smiling enough at the camera. She went on to win the Academy award for "Best Actress" in 2004. Here is Charlize Theron talking about it: “I turned it down, I’m only in that film because Patty Jenkins, the writer and director, wouldn’t take no for an answer … she was relentless.” “I felt like the script was so good that if you were going to do it, you had to do it visually, in a way that felt authentic to who she was, and I didn’t know if I could do that” To transform her body to better match Aileen’s, Charlize had to gain several pounds, which meant she could eat just about anything she wanted. “It’s a f**king free-for-all. It’s amazing,” she said. 📢What happened in Poland after the elections is now repeating in Hungary: A constitutional carpet bombing is taking place in Hungary today, while the EU rewards the new Hungarian government by releasing €16 billion — the very same funds it had withheld from the previous government precisely because it accused the Orbán government of dismantling the rule of law. In Hungary, just like in every normal democracy, the President of the Republic can be removed through a legal process: a certain number of Members of Parliament initiate impeachment proceedings, and if, at the end of the process, two-thirds of the Constitutional Court decides that the President has violated the Constitution or the law, they can be removed. This is one of the tools of checks and balances. This is exactly what happened in Lithuania in 2004. But this is not what is happening in Hungary. The new Hungarian government is essentially removing the President of the Republic with a stroke of a pen, without any impeachment procedure — something unprecedented anywhere in Europe. Equally unprecedented in the EU is the introduction of a 12-year term limit for Members of Parliament. This effectively decapitates half of the opposition, as it consists of parties that have been active since 1989, with many representatives having served multiple terms because voters repeatedly re-elected them. In contrast, the politicians of the new government are all completely “zero-kilometer” — they are brand-new politicians entering parliament for the first time. Finally, through personalized and retroactive legislation — two things that are unacceptable in a rule-of-law state — they have banned the leader of the opposition, Orbán, from running in future elections. With this new step, the government has essentially abolished popular representation, because the foundation of democracy is that anyone can run for office and anyone can be elected. Instead of speaking up, Brussels is actually giving money to the new government to “restore the rule of law.” Equality before the law and legal certainty are dead in the EU. The EU has become a global liberal bureaucratic monster that installs puppet states in power, allowing them to engage in legal thuggery as long as they serve its own agenda.

John McTiernan on the meaning behind this gun firing scene in "Predator" (1987): "When I first went to work on 'Predator' (1987), I had the feeling that people had a sort of perverse fascination with pictures of guns firing, literally an almost p****gr**hic desire. And I said to myself, “Okay, if you want pictures of guns firing, I’ll give you pictures of guns firing.” So I created this sequence where they take all of their guns and they blaze away continually for five minutes flat, and they flatten the jungle and they mow down everything. And what I was really doing was… to quietly ridicule the desire to see pictures of guns firing. Now, you have sort of a moral separate peace here.
