Reporter: What do you make of Donald Trump’s attack on Kamala Harris’ identity? Shapiro: I think it’s offensive and it’s more of the same from Trump. He attacks other people based on what they look like or who they pray to or who they love.. He tries to divide Americans because he struggles with uplifting all Americans. I think it shows profound weakness.. Attacking the identity of the VP doesn’t at all reflect negatively on the VP but shows a real insecurity about Trump. This guy is nervous as hell to face Kamala Harris. He’s already trying to back out of the debate. Part of that is because he knows she’s going to whoop him in the debate… There’s another reason why he really doesn’t want to debate her and doesn’t really want to have a conversation about the issues. It’s because he can’t defend his record. He has a record of failure…I think Donald Trump’s attacks speak volumes about the kind of coward that he is, about his own failings, and say nothing about the great qualifications of the VP

Buttigieg: If I was advising President Trump, I would advise him to start by speaking the truth to the American people because when he says it's going to be four weeks and then breaks that promise it reminds people of when he said he wouldn't start this war and broke that promise. The outrageous news that we just got with the Trump administration removed the names of four of our service members who were killed in action apparently because the fact that they were killed in action goes against his fiction that sometimes he says we are actually not in a war even though everybody knows we are. What I would say to him is when I was in uniform when I was deployed, I knew that on some level my life depended on the credibility of the people running our government. American lives depend on him telling the truth even when it's hard.

Unfortunately, the Russian side once again chooses war – everyone heard the response today. Weak response. He simply does not want to end the war. I think many around the world were disappointed by that response. He does not want to change anything, and he does not want to admit that this war appeals only to him – and to those who are making money off him. They were all smiling very broadly today. That means Russia must have less money, and there must be more pressure on Russia. I thank everyone who is helping us. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine and wants a real peace.
