The longer I get into my coaching career the more I notice this… Kids need more ALONE time with the ball A world full of workouts, aau tournaments and moms & dads in their ear every day… What kids would benefit at least a little bit would be some quiet time with them and the ball You might not be able to tell here but I’m hyper focused on the ball in my hands. I can feel what finger it leaves off of and if it’s going to be left, right, short or long I can feel it when it leaves my hands. I keep trying to make small adjustments to get that perfect feeling release. How about that for a shooting drill? 🤫

Ok, I am having a bit of trouble getting unreal engine to activate on the cluster, but it looks like on the main screen the car avatar is also controlled by it. Now you can interact with it and it's getting somewhat more detailed. See the example:

The 3D printed stencil generator now has automatic alignment. No more lining up the stencil and taping it down, just drop it on and go. You can also now use gerber files directly instead of an SVG I'm printing some tests right now and will make more improvements as I use it.

Introducing the “Get” action in basketball to lacrosse! The “Get” is a 2man action where a player passes the ball to another player and sprints to go “Get” it back on a handoff. This action has similar concepts and reads to pick and roll, but the picker is actually the ball handler! In lacrosse, we have been experimenting with Gets because it creates so many interesting situations and reads for the players. The way we teach it in small sided games is to have one offensive player declare “I’m shut” and the defense has to face-guard him. From there we pick for the shut off player trying to spring them free for the Get. The ball handler has to engage and control their defender, anticipating the shut player trying to get open. The shut player can backdoor if being overplayed towards the get (rejecting the get), receive a flip, or continue curling around the ball getting open for a late pass. The ball handler can feed the reject, flip the ball, or fake the flip to attack the goal or make a late pass to the shut payer curling to the goal. I’ve seen examples of this run in men’s and women’s DI lacrosse at Ohio State and Northwestern, respectively and I’ve run this myself when I was coaching HS girls lacrosse. You will also see on this reel a sick application for Gets vs. a common big-little invert coverage where the short stick doesn’t go behind with his man and plays “Safety” in front of the net. Gets are fun for the players, are incredible for teaching your players 2man game on and off ball, dealing with double teams, and creativity with passing, and can be used to score goals. KEEP OFF SEASON DEVELOPMENT SIMPLE Heading in to the off season soon, we’ll see a lot of players try to get better at everything and make their development more complex than it had to be. So much of development can be solved by focusing on shooting and playing. Within the playing focusing on ball handling (getting 2 feet in the paint), finishing, decisions and reads, guarding on ball and off ball. If you play with purpose and get your shooting reps up before or after you’ll put yourself in a great spot during the off season.

Also waited quite long with this because I was scared it'd be difficult But I generated a new soldier model now in Tripo (sponsor of the Vibe Jam), and will also try auto-rig it, that gives it a skeleton, so I can modify that and get soldiers to finally walk around instead of statically moving which I have now I want them to be able to: - walk - run - crouch - prone - hold a gun and point a gun - jump And all of these are animations that Three.js then has to run

I can think of about 100 plays off the top of my head that are better than throwing the ball 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd and 5 to set up a screen behind a 170-pound WR. This is just asinine. What's even worse, is following it up with a punt on 4th and 5 when the analytics say to go for it.

Chats with my dad about when to go back vs when to come in. In softball, you sometimes don’t get the luxury of going back and getting the long hop like you would in baseball. Like mentioned, it’s do or die. You can either go in and get it on that short hop and take the chance of getting an in between hop or you can take the angle back to get the long hop but it can possibly take too long and runner is safe. It all depends on the ball and runner.
