More C64 LittleBigPlanet 8-bit Coding! - Did some work on interactions with Physics Ball, can now go behind and in front of it (That was more pain than I thought it would be!), can stand on it and get a high bounce by holding jump button when you land on it and can also walk on the ball for some clown action! The ball also kind of rolls down 'slopes', (or rather falls off corners), and it also has a proper world position now so can actually be moved from screen to screen - should be able to make some gameplay with this...in theory! #LittleBigPlanet #Sackboy #C64 #8bitart #football

An average picture that you save on your phone or PC has a size of around 400 kilobytes. It doesn't do anything, it's just a static image. Now divide that by the factor 10, so you drop to 40 kilobytes. That's the size of The Last Ninja, developed by System 3 and published in 1987. I still struggle to comprehend, even in the slightest, how programmers back then did what they did - and the worlds they created with the limitations they had to work with. I was simply blown away by the graphics (isometric on the C64 with such an amazing level of detail - simply gorgeous) and absolutely mesmerized by the kickass sound. What Ben Daglish and Anthony Lees conjured up musically will forever be part of gaming history - an iconic masterpiece. 40 kilobytes man...

Ever since the first SimCity (the C64 version was the first one I played, then Amiga, then MSDOS), I’ve spent thousands of hours playing games in this series (I can’t count them all, but it’s definitely somewhere around that). And I’m really glad that SimCity 4 (with mods) is still an excellent city builder game. And while I may have a soft spot for SC, SC2000 and SC3000, I still consider SC4 to be the best installment. Anyway - good night, y'all!

The longer I get into my coaching career the more I notice this… Kids need more ALONE time with the ball A world full of workouts, aau tournaments and moms & dads in their ear every day… What kids would benefit at least a little bit would be some quiet time with them and the ball You might not be able to tell here but I’m hyper focused on the ball in my hands. I can feel what finger it leaves off of and if it’s going to be left, right, short or long I can feel it when it leaves my hands. I keep trying to make small adjustments to get that perfect feeling release. How about that for a shooting drill? 🤫

The only time #corrie ever had Carla speaking of her sexuality I really liked that they didn't dwell on it.. Not making it a big deal, that she suddenly liked another woman🤗 #swarla But since many people have such an issue with it since she's been with Lisa, maybe they should have?? Cause can see a lot of people still not understanding it. How could SHE fall in love with a woman at the age of 50. The people in the show understand it, but the people in real life apparently don't... But it does happen, a lot.. Much more than people think...

Before the open edition tomorrow I wanted to share more on how this new collection came to be. Last year we've all experienced a major shift in the algorithm. Our reach was severely impacted and art posts seemed to be gone in favor of junk/rage posts. Around June last year while sketching in my notebook I doodled a Mickey-esque character with its head squashed by an old monitor. I came up with a rough result in after effects and dismissed it quickly as a nice experiment and nothing more. A couple of months went by and I reopened the files. Added some sounds and once again, in my head it was just a little detour before I make a new piece. Showed it to my wife and she loved it. But still I wasn't sure what to do with it. It looks different next to my other pieces. Thought it's cool but moved on. End of the year was very hard on me, I won't elaborate too much here but If you've been following me you know I had a personal loss. For a while I couldn't even think of creating anything new. Then I reopened the files for this one, and slowly worked my way into refining it. And while doing so I started liking this style more and more. Figured an accessible new collection would work perfectly for this. Getting my art in more hands is the priority here. Seeing your replies that you can finally get an edition of mine really warms my heart and makes this whole thing worthwhile. Hope you'll take this journey with me to see this collection grow over time as I make more and more editions with a fresh take in the Vintage Distortions series. Thanks for reading all my mumblings. Oh, and FUCK THE ALGO! 🖤

The Game Boy was launched in 1989, sold almost 120 million units, and was eventually discontinued in 2003 - an incredible lifespan for a handheld console, the longest ever, unless I am overlooking another? One of the games that was availabe with the launch was Super Mario Land, and it became one of its highest selling titles (18 million cartridges), being part of the early and massive success of the Game Boy. By the way, all this with a mere 8 KB of RAM. That's 1/8th of the good old C64. Super Mario Land was essentially a perfect game, getting the absolute maximum out of the Game Boy at the time. I remember that even my mother and sister playing it, while before that computers games were really not their thing at all.
