I'm really curious how you're drawing the level... it reminds me of the Last Ninja but it's a style that isn't that common on the C64, or at least not back when I was actively playing a lot of games. :)

Each screen has three layers of collision and mask so I can run behind walls etc - I manually erase sprite data to make hardware sprite go behind stuff.

More C64 LittleBigPlanet 8-bit Coding! - Did some work on interactions with Physics Ball, can now go behind and in front of it (That was more pain than I thought it would be!), can stand on it and get a high bounce by holding jump button when you land on it and can also walk on the ball for some clown action! The ball also kind of rolls down 'slopes', (or rather falls off corners), and it also has a proper world position now so can actually be moved from screen to screen - should be able to make some gameplay with this...in theory! #LittleBigPlanet #Sackboy #C64 #8bitart #football

After years of training with straps, I am pleased to discover that my grip strength is stronger than ever. 415 for 3, but I had more in the tank and pushed out some really heavy deficit deadlifts for sets of 6 afterwards, again strapless.

An average picture that you save on your phone or PC has a size of around 400 kilobytes. It doesn't do anything, it's just a static image. Now divide that by the factor 10, so you drop to 40 kilobytes. That's the size of The Last Ninja, developed by System 3 and published in 1987. I still struggle to comprehend, even in the slightest, how programmers back then did what they did - and the worlds they created with the limitations they had to work with. I was simply blown away by the graphics (isometric on the C64 with such an amazing level of detail - simply gorgeous) and absolutely mesmerized by the kickass sound. What Ben Daglish and Anthony Lees conjured up musically will forever be part of gaming history - an iconic masterpiece. 40 kilobytes man...

Ever since the first SimCity (the C64 version was the first one I played, then Amiga, then MSDOS), I’ve spent thousands of hours playing games in this series (I can’t count them all, but it’s definitely somewhere around that). And I’m really glad that SimCity 4 (with mods) is still an excellent city builder game. And while I may have a soft spot for SC, SC2000 and SC3000, I still consider SC4 to be the best installment. Anyway - good night, y'all!

The longer I get into my coaching career the more I notice this… Kids need more ALONE time with the ball A world full of workouts, aau tournaments and moms & dads in their ear every day… What kids would benefit at least a little bit would be some quiet time with them and the ball You might not be able to tell here but I’m hyper focused on the ball in my hands. I can feel what finger it leaves off of and if it’s going to be left, right, short or long I can feel it when it leaves my hands. I keep trying to make small adjustments to get that perfect feeling release. How about that for a shooting drill? 🤫

“You need to learn how to speak proper English.” I hear that one ALL the time. But good communication isn’t about sounding the same in every room. It’s about knowing how to communicate in the room you’re in. I’m Southern. I have an accent. We have slang. I talk differently with my homies than I do in a boardroom, and I’m more relaxed with my students than I am during a national interview. Yeah it’s AXE and not ASK sometimes. That doesn’t mean I don’t know the difference. Knowing the difference is the skill. My boys aren’t in English class every time I open my mouth. Sometimes I’m simply talking to them in a way that feels natural, familiar, and connects. Don’t confuse somebody CHOOSING how to speak with somebody not KNOWING how to speak.

Cause can see a lot of people still not understanding it. How could SHE fall in love with a woman at the age of 50. Chris Hemsworth talking about making a documentary with his dad is one of those celebrity stories that starts off sounding like another Hollywood project and then becomes something much more personal. What makes it hit harder is that this wasn’t really about making a documentary for the sake of making one. It was about spending time with his dad and creating memories while they still had the opportunity to do it. That’s the part that stayed with me. Because when you’re young, you assume you’ll always have more time with your parents. More conversations. More trips. More chances to ask questions. More ordinary days that you don't realize are actually important until later. Chris is obviously someone who could travel anywhere in the world and have access to almost anything. But the thing that carries the most emotional weight here is simply going somewhere with his dad. That says a lot. Sometimes the most valuable thing you can give someone isn't money, a gift or some huge experience. It’s your time. And honestly, I think a lot of people watching this will understand that feeling more than they expect. What’s one memory with a parent or grandparent that you didn’t realize was special until years later?
