More of the iOS app loop, now inside Codex. The Build iOS Apps plugin lets Codex view and test your iOS app in the in-app browser, open SwiftUI previews, and hot reload edits without leaving Codex.

Shoutout to the open source projects behind this: • Serve-sim powers the streaming simulator by @Baconbrix • SnapshotPreviews extracts SwiftUI previews by @sentry

More trash for the codex zombie, making people completely brain dead they can’t even do their job without codex anymore. And they think they have the right to lecture people who want 4o🤔. #keep4o

the ios dev workflow is getting so compressed. used to need xcode + simulator + browser + docs all open. now its just one tab

With this skill I made, you can design apps according to Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines easily, in a context efficient way 👇🏼

SimDeck is another great option for viewing and testing your mobile app in Codex. You can use it for other cool things too, like using GitHub Actions workflows to stream your app to the browser based on PR comments.

the preview-hot reload loop optimizes the right thing for UI iteration. but ios bugs mostly live in runtime state interactions that previews never exercise. curious whether codex can surface those without the full simulator dance

coding agents going mobile is a bigger deal than it looks. the "i had an idea on the train and shipped it before my stop" loop is real. the bottleneck was never the keyboard — it was the gap between idea and running code.

This is one of those updates that doesn't look like a big deal at first until you realize how much frustration it removes. Developers used to switch between their editor, simulator, browser, and debugging tools to test a small change. Now AI can write the code, show the app, test it, spot problems, and fix them. Every step and workflow that disappears saves a little time. We're seeing app development go from a pile of different tools to simply having a conversation.

This is game-changing 🔥 The seamless loop of simulator streaming + SwiftUI preview hot reload inside Codex is exactly what iOS devs have been waiting for. No more context-switching between Xcode, simulator, and AI. Shoutout to @Baconbrix and @getsentry for the OSS foundations — open source + OpenAI integration is the dream combo. Already thinking about using this to refactor my SwiftUI feeds with Liquid Glass effects. Any plans for deeper XcodeBuildMCP integration or real device testing next? cc: iOS folks building with Codex

the hot reload loop inside the same tool is huge for iteration speed, no more context switching between simulator and editor kills the flow state

Soon, developers won’t be able to sell an app just because it’s a good idea. If someone wants the same thing, they’ll be able to ask Codex to build their own version.
