Most traders don’t fail because they can’t find a statistically sound strategy. They fail because they can’t sit with uncertainty long enough to let the strategy play out. That’s a big part of what I talked about in this radio interview. Link in bio if you want to watch...

There's a rational piece to that discomfort. If your edge is only validated on a couple hundred trades, some of the unease in a drawdown is honest signal that you don't yet know whether you've found a real edge or just noise. That's the sample size talking. The traders I've watched sit calm through losing runs usually have the validation to lean on. A few thousand backtested trades, live results that track the backtest, a six-loss streak they've already seen in testing instead of an open question about whether the system still works. So before calling it a patience problem I'd check how deep the edge was actually proven. A lot of the time the backtest was too thin to even know what a normal drawdown looks like, so of course sitting through one feels unbearable.

Most can’t tolerate uncertainty because of wrong sizing and lack of risk management. Once you understand the probabilistic nature of trading you learn to downsize so you can play the long game and really be the casino. Then patience gets easy and losing a few in a row feels normal instead of the edge dying

Yes, but there are many other problems as well, and they all start in the mind. Everyone has their own fears and weaknesses, and they need to work through them. 🧠

Knowing when to trade is more important than knowing how to trade.

La stratégie n’est jamais le problème. C’est la capacité à rester dans le flux sans vouloir le contrôler.

That's right. But trading is based on probability, you just need a good analysis and risk management. Then just set and forget 😎
