🏃 Movement + Animation Update: Following feedback on the Official Trailer from December, we've been further tuning and polishing Stuffy's movement to make it more responsive and fluid. We hope this video is a promising glimpse of our much-requested progress in this area! What's New? - Stuffy is now... ~10% smaller, granting more playable space and control (to accurately fit inside of a 'layered' segment, land tight jumps, etc.) - Stuffy's run speed was increased, and with better acceleration. - Stuffy now reacts to 'extreme' rising and falling velocities, so they'll flail around dramatically when popping out of a Blink Bubble, bouncing on a Trampoline, or falling from big jumps. - We've updated and added all-new animations and the method of blending them. This includes animations for idle jump and land, running jump and land, quick turn while running, and more. - We've increased Stuffy's max jump height, strength, and overall weight. - We've also increased the global gravity for less floaty physics. - A more visible drop shadow was added to help judge landing. Why these changes? From our own testing and public feedback, we realized the physics were not properly tuned after a big refactoring made in 2023... resulting in a floaty look. Sadly, the fixes weren't investigated in time for the trailer! Our goal was always to improve the animation blending and movement style. Thanks to your feedback, we were able to pinpoint the biggest problems and begin fixing them. 💖 Our work isn't done! You'll notice some bugs in the video. 🐞 We plan to continue polishing the movement with time, including new animations that help Stuffy react to the environment even better. However, this is a step in the right direction and it feels much nicer to use (and look at)! You'll also spot some of the Wardrobe in action!show more

Here's a Sneak Preview of a new idea coming to Origins: Creative! For a while now we've been improving some of our in-game building tools, to help with things like Expeditions and the Blueprint Studio. Similarly we've been spending a lot of time on finding ways to get furniture safely into the hands of new users. Creative is the culmination of some of that work, below is a prototype of some of the new behaviours. We're planning to run trial period that introduces new building mechanics (improved :furni, batch furniture movement, advanced furniture placement) and creative placement for all users, no subscription or payment required. What exactly will land in the creative category, and the limits given to our free players & club members is still a work in progress, but we'd like players to be able to jump right in and build something. Your existing furniture collection remains exactly as it is - elevating builds, and powering the economy. Creative furniture is limited, transient, and cannot be traded, held in your inventory, or interacted with at all outside of its placement in the room. A handful of restrictions will apply - such as being unable to use creative furniture in room building competitions with credit/rare prizes (more on how in the future), but we'd love to hear additional feedback or concerns both ahead of the trial, and as the trial launches!

He dropped to the edge of the box very often. ■ Unlike in the 1st half, there was a better understanding between Shinga and the LW. When Shinga overlapped, Mmodi was willing to occupy the pockets and combine. ▪︎ When Shinga inverted, Mmodi was happy to hug the line and take his man on. This understanding was key in that side coming to life in the 2nd half. ■ What was also impressive was the ability for them to create good combinations and movements with Mdu and Duba on the offense from the left side. ■ Lilepo from the right was getting into good goal scoring positions when the left was creating in the 2nd half, but poor decisions on the ball and slow reactions were a problem. He should compete on the LW with Mmodi. ■ In the 1st half, it was Monyane and Vilakazi on the right, and 2nd half it was Mmodi and Shinga with some of our best moments in attack. Overall, you can see the general attitude of this team changing. They want to play now. They want to stay on the ball and create chances from a position of control, not rely heavily on transitional moments to create chances. We have shown signs that we can control and be patient, but when opportunities to attack comes we are relentless, and we use a lot of speed to enter the final 3rd. We just need to work on the combinations and finishing in the final 3rd. My goal in this budget process has always been to make sure we’re funding core, basic services in a balanced and disciplined manner. We know there is an inherent tension between asking people to pay rates, fees and taxes— and the issue of affordability. We want to make sure our city can provide the quality-of-life services that our residents deserve, but we also want to make sure we’re putting affordability first in our community. While I worry a lot about affordability, I also worry about the ability of our city to deliver quality services without more revenue. I strongly believe that if we're not making the kinds of investments we need to make in our people and our services, we will be managing decay in Austin in a very short period of time. This budget will not meet everyone’s concept of perfection. Truthfully, there are parts of the budget that I don’t like. That goes with living in a big, diverse city—different people will have different priorities, and we need to make room for all of us. Now, it is time for us to trust our voters. Voters have an opportunity in November to make a very important decision. From my perspective, the best part of this budget is that we fully fund our homeless strategy office. That was my greatest emphasis, and we've achieved it. It will make a world of difference in getting homeless people off the street in a very short period of time. I'm also very pleased with what we’ve added to funding for public safety, EMS, and wildfire prevention. A positive vote in the November tax rate election will allow us to pay for these needed services. And we make a significant investment in our parks. I look forward to a result that will be the best benefit of our community.
