The world is not a better place with no Much Music. Such a shame. The platform was invaluable for youth to discover new music and multi genre, non-algorithm selections. Hugely shaped my childhood.

Those early years of Much (‘84-‘86) were magical for a young teenager such as myself. I was OBSESSED with Much. That first year, they played 6 hour rotation 4 times/24 hours. Still would watch it 2-3 times over. Pioneering work!

BST 2 was my gateway CD into music. Locked in on my Panasonic Shockwave Brainshaker, to this day anytime I hear Song 2 on a stereo my brain follows the closing notes with the opening riff from Semi Charmed Life. Etched in my eardrums forever.
