Mumbai-Pune Expressway has been made a hell-hole thanks to heavy traffic. There is no system of help in case of a breakdown. A great road has been systematically turned into a disaster zone. Take Vande Bharat 🙏

On Jan 29 I had a hellish drive on the expressway towards Pune as soon as I reached the ghats. No cops around and trucks in all three lanes.

My nephew's wife missed this chaos with a whisker on way to the airport yesterday. Happy she did not miss her flight to the US 🙏

The issue is poor traffic management and free run to truckers n buses to use any lane they wish especially on the ghat section. No one cares & no authority has ever penalised any truck or bus drivers for blatant violation. Heavy vehicles day time entry n exits seems not monitored

There was an accident yday at 5 pm towards Mumbai. The road is closed as it was a propane gas tanker.

I appreciate that. But we need professional disaster management. We must learn. Delays are routine now.

There is a simple solution. Allow only cars and buses on express highway while two wheelers and tempos/ trucks should be restricted to old highway.

This shows lack of preparedness by the concerned authorities. They didn’t even call NDRF to sort out the gas leak issue.

This is the route to Viksit Bharat, stay on.

Vande bharat is suitable for punekars and not mumbaikars. Check their timings

@Dev_Fadnavis Why doesn't @DGPMaharashtra enforce lane discipline and seize trucks violating rules? Have instructions been provided to the police to not act against rule breakers or enforce laws? Either you have instructed or police are incompetent. Which one is it?

Its a mess. This only due to trucks and buses blocking all three lanes. Why can’t govt divert all trucks to old Mumbai - Pune highway and keep expressway exclusively for cars and Shivneri buses till the time they add 2 more lanes?

Silk board to Hosur to Krishnagiri is always crawling like this It's due to heavy vehicles and the daily breakdown of one of two of them But when the government t tried to ensure old trucks lorries can not be run There was a strike wasn't there ?

@CMOMaharashtra this is routine now on this route. Why do you collect toll(total-330) one side. if you’re not able to provide clear road.

Ideal is to move Truckers to the old Bombay Pune Highway via Khopoli. That way the economy on the way will also flourish that has slowed a lot after every one is using the Expressway. @CMOMaharashtra

Vande bharat are for Mumbai- Ahmedabad...who cares for Mumbai pune. Realistically we need 10 daily Mumbai pune vande bharat per day

Yet they want to move more industry here, cut down forests, construct more & more.Unchecked, unplanned growth compounded by mindless citizens like truck & bus drivers who don't follow lane discipline leads to this. Time the govt focussed on ground issues.
