🚨‼️MUST WATCH: Hidden inside the Budget Implementation Act are sweeping new powers that concentrate authority in ministers’ hands, weaken parliamentary oversight, and sidestep democratic accountability. It’s not just Conservatives raising the alarm. A broad coalition of civil liberties groups, legal experts, economists, and governance watchdogs are speaking out and...

Of course this gov’t wants to give themselves more power. They seal records of interest to citizens, they can now delete communication earlier, they challenged (and lost) that a court found they illegally invoked the EA. Why stop there? Corruption begets corruption. 👇🏼

This is extremely important to consider, as it effectively gives the government in power the ability to block prosecution for wrongdoing when it suits its purposes.

That is absolutely OUT of the question. They want to exempt Brookfield from ANY oversight. And all their other cronies and crony corporations, too. Carney must think Canadians are STUPID.

Sounds like he's going to take kick backs to let some companies avoid laws. If he wants to make an actual difference, he needs to work on getting the laws changed for everyone, not just certain companies that can afford to pay him to do it.

Canadians won't pay attention until their house prices drop and they can't get a mortgage. By then, Carney et al will already be silencing every voice they can.

@flipside_take2 Every piece of legislation that they embed within Bills needs to be exposed on MSM @PierrePoilievre @MichelleRempel @bobzimmermp Let ALL Canadians understand why these Bills must not pass and get ahead of their liberal rhetoric against the @CPC_HQ for voting against.

These are the kinds of sneaky things the liberals do then try to censor social media to hide their dirty deeds. We mustn’t let them do this to us. Revolt

🇨🇦 THIS IS OUR MOMENT — CANADA MUST RISE This is not the country our parents built. A nation once defined by strength, fairness, hard work, and sovereignty has been hollowed out from the inside. Decisions that shape our lives are no longer made by Canadians — but by bureaucrats, global institutions, and political elites who will never face the consequences of their failures. You work harder. You earn less. You pay more. You get less back. Housing is broken. Healthcare is collapsing. Taxes are crushing families. Communities are changing without consent. And every time Canadians speak up, they’re told to sit down, comply, and accept it. That is not democracy. That is management. A country is not a flag or a slogan — it is a social contract. And that contract has been broken. From the Atlantic to the Prairies, from the North to the West, Canadians are asking the same question: Why are we being governed against our will? Why should provinces rich in resources remain shackled to policies that punish productivity? Why should regions with distinct values, economies, and cultures be forced into one failing centralized system? Independence is not division. It is accountability. It is self-government. It is the right of free people to choose their future instead of having it dictated to them. Nations around the world are rediscovering a truth Canada has forgotten: You cannot fix a broken system by begging it to reform itself. Real change begins when people remember who they are. Canada doesn’t need more control. It needs courage. And courage begins the moment people stop asking for permission. The future will not be given. It will be taken — peacefully, lawfully, and by the will of the people. The question is no longer if Canadians will demand it. It’s when.

Today the Federal Government in conjunction with the Coalition and with no resistance from One Nation passed a bill against Hate Speech. They gagged debate again and rammed the laws through with no scrutiny where we could ask questions. This is a direct attack on Free Speech. For the third parliamentary week in a row the major parties have devoted Parliament to controlling you, not serving you, by shutting you down. The Misinformation Law, the Online Safety Bill and now Hate Speech are all designed to censor people and push back on government overreach. The hate speech law is dangerous because it threatens freedom of speech by allowing the government to censor or punish individuals for expressing opinions that might be deemed offensive. Such laws are often vague and subjective, leading to potential abuse and selective enforcement. This creates a chilling effect where people fear speaking openly, stifling debate and free expression. Instead of combating hate, these laws can be weaponized to silence dissent and suppress unpopular viewpoints, ultimately undermining democratic values and individual liberties. People First stood in defence of open discourse, free speech, and the democratic principles that underpin our society. Upholding these values will foster trust and preserve the liberties that Australians hold dear. I am disappointed that One Nation did not stand with me on this issue. These laws extend to all people including children. When a motion was moved to exclude children under 14 from these laws, Malcolm Roberts voted against it. Children should not be penalised for the actions or thoughts of their parents. I challenge Malcolm and Pauline to debate me on the reasons why they support this law. It is government overreach plain and simple. There are already state laws against violence and inciting violence. Under the constitution, the States are responsible for policing crime not the Federal Government. There is no need for these laws. They will only be used to censor you. #auspol
