My conversation with Richard Dawkins, moderated by Alex O'Connor.

Dawkins was incapable of separating what was vitally important (the wisdom) from nonsensical details that had nothing to do with anything. I was frustrated for you. How one can focus on Cain and Abel and get stuck on whether they were actual people or not is astoundingly shallow thinking. The man just isn’t a deep thinker. You seem to have the wisdom of the Bible down praying you find the faith part one day. God bless Doctor and thanks for what you do!

I’m honestly shocked how dense @RichardDawkins is in this conversation 30 minutes into it. Don’t get wrong appreciate his poking at the story/facts but almost like he can’t understand or better yet refuses to understand as his posture seems to position to win an argument instead of seeking truth. Might not be his fault as he has been positioned in a win/loose scenarios for so long, but wish he could get “past himself” for the lack of a better term, perhaps further in we can all enjoy some discovery together?

40 minutes in and @RichardDawkins and the moderator are unable to recognize their is discovery here on where transcendence and physical manifestation overlap, their looking for gotcha questions. Probably, again, because that is the scenario Dawkins is so used too, win or loose arguments. His type of conversation now slowly showing its age, almost a higher level of a high school question, no disrespect just pointing the the fact that these discussions at this level are now discovering a connection of transcendence and physical manifestation that Dawkins seems to be failing to recognize. His questions are bad questions but he can’t recognize it. However I truly appreciate his participation as I myself would not have recognized this until Jordan and he are so well juxtaposed. Be interesting to see, for a lack of a better term, if he catches up with the conversation here in the next part of the conversation.

@RichardDawkins @CosmicSkeptic @jordanbpeterson - Jesus IS the unity of knowledge you speak of. He doesn’t point to it, or symbolize it. He IS it. “I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life.” In Jesus, the person, we have a unification of the “factual” and the “metaphorical”. The ultimate reality. Great video.

It seems to me, the "predictive power" of the Biblical texts that you might both agree on (or at least agree on its possibility), would be its ability to shape a civilization successfully. Suppose you have two islands filled with people who are literate but lack any modern scientific knowledge. If you taught the Bible to one, and taught nothing (or perhaps some other less time-worn stories) to the other, you would expect the first island to be more prosperous. The stories don't predict specific things, because they're an unusually generalizable manual. But they predict what leads to broad civilizational success. I feel you were turning this near the end of the discussion. Worth listening to for the last 10 minutes alone.

This argument about whether people of the Bible are real or not… Unless you’ve been in the same room as someone - in 2024, with AI - I can’t even know if Donald Trump is real. Word of mouth would be the only method of knowing. How do we know Isaac newton was real. How do we know William Shakespeare was real. We could do this all day long.

Dawkins drained you Jordan. I watched him extract five years of your life force as he sat back with a smile on his face. He drained me as well and I felt pain and months of my life being swept away into the aether. I was left nauseous and light headed and now require deliverance ministry to free my soul from the dew of Tartarus that condensed upon me. I suggest you do the same.

@RichardDawkins @CosmicSkeptic Dawkins comes across simple minded and dull though, since he had some proximity to Christopher Hitchens, I must be missing something.
