Beach-Head, published in 1983 by Access Software, is one of the hardest C64 games I have ever played. I was 8 when I first gave it a shot, so maybe that was part of the reason but even in my teenage years I still struggled to get to that final mega-bunker/fortress monstrosity at the end. It was extremely successful back in the day, selling around 250,000 copies, an excellent number for the early 80s, and especially for being one the first games from Access Software. The same programmer (Bruce Carver) went on to also make Raid over Moscow one year later, another classic of 80s gaming history - and one that was equally hard (especially that damn hangar!). I think in terms of design and gameplay you can see how they are related.

I just hit 100k subscribers on YouTube and I'm stoked. Which is why I've decided to give this whole content creation thing a real shot. Starting today, I am going to stream consistently on Twitch and regularly upload to my channel. A little back story on how I got here. Before I created content I suffered from clinical depression after having my thyroid removed due to cancer. I would escape by watching streams and gaming videos to relax. One day I decided to just give it a shot. So I hooked up my computer and talked into a very cheap mic and started streaming. It went terribly, but honestly... I was thrilled. Then I took some of that footage and edited it down like I did with skate videos to some random song that reminded me of a model runway. Took forever to get done on my free time. I got one encouraging comment... And I was absolutely thrilled. These days I get comments from people who tell me what they're struggling through and how my videos helped them forget about it for an hour. And every time that happens, I'm reminded of why I do this. To pay back for all the times I was entertained when I was having a hard time. It seems so dumb, but man... I can't tell you what a stupid little video or silly stream can do for someone having a really hard time. I'm not sure if this is going to work... But I'm going to give it a try. Even if I fail, I'm not going to stop creating. I got exciting plans for the future but this is the first step. Where it takes me... I'm not sure. I hope you all come along. Regardless. Thanks to all of you for supporting me and helping me out. I never thought I'd hit 100k or have any type of following. Not in a million years. I am grateful and appreciative. Here's to what comes next I guess. Tea is life. ☕️

Hi Linda Yaccarino I have contacted X everyday for the last 2 weeks with an inquiry into why users on X and many Premium users are having their accounts marked as spam. Nobody from X will reply. People are paying for a service at the company you are in charge of and they are being labeled as “spam” and comments under their posts are labeled as spam. For the sake of transparency and your company commitment to free speech, can you please publicly provide an explanation as to why so many of your PAYING USERS on X are having their accounts flagged as spam and why accounts are now being hidden from the timeline? I am posting the publicly as I have been advised to do, for full transparency so that everyone can see that these inquiries are being made. I am being respectful, and as someone who is happy to pay $30 a month, I am hoping to get some answers for myself and the many other X users who are having this issue but not getting any answers from X. Thank you. I look forward to your reply so we can resolve this issue. If people are paying X , they should not be marked as spam. RUN RABBIT RUN 🐇 – VEO3 CHEAT SHEET – Part I ( 🔈Sound on) So, I’ve been more extensively testing Veo3 over the past few weeks, and I wanted to see how much dynamism I could get from the new model and how I could use motion and placement to consistently tell a story while changing universes each time. Now, my findings: 1/ First, it does feel more like a Veo2.5 than a full leap. But it’s a meaningful step forward, especially in motion and complexity. Veo2 was already great, this one feels like an evolution, not a revolution. 2/ My Veo2 Cheat Sheet still mostly apply for Veo3: For example, I still prompt the most important elements first (often style). Just as a reminder: 3/ It's pretty good at filling the gaps when you're writing simple prompts. For cool, out-of-the-box results, just describe short scenes, but be careful with consistency. Weird tradeoff, I guess. 4/ The token window is a LOT longer, so you can get more complex, multi-step actions from your prompt. Veo2 would often lose the thread, Veo3 can keep up with sequential and layered instructions. That’s a win. 5/ Camera motion is much better. Handheld, tracking, wide-angle moves, it holds together well. Still lacks control, but it’s a clear jump from Veo2. Definitely worth noting, especially given how many people have been experimenting with Higgsfield lately. 6/ Like Veo2, POV and fantasy prompts seem to lean into a game engine vibe. Not quite realism — more like stylized cutscenes or in-game shots. Sometimes it works, sometimes it’s distracting. 7/ Aspect ratio tip (thanks Kyle Salazar): want to reduce the black bars? Add “aspect ratio 1.85:1” at the start of your prompt. Haven’t tested it yet, but apparently it helps. -8/ You can generate 360° videos. Try “360 video,” “monoscopic,” or “equirectangular.” Not flawless (some seams), but it works surprisingly well. See my previous post for this. 9/ Prompting for aesthetics is still hit-or-miss. Consistency is tough. You can over-describe your characters and key elements to keep them stable throughout, but for style...especially animation, it’s still hard to maintain. Now, my findings: 1/ First, it does feel more like a Veo2.5 than a full leap. But it’s a meaningful step forward, especially in motion and complexity. Stop perma full clearing if you want to win games Video below explaining it but i am providing a transcript for anyone that doesnt speak english to translate or maybe that are deaf You are losing games by full clearing now. What I mean by this isn't that full clearing is inherently bad. What I mean is that lot of people get stuck thinking they just have to full clear the problem is once you get your first item, a lot of the time it's actually best to just not full clear. Because when you get your first item and especially when you're ahead, you should be looking to do things actively on the map. Because if you just full clear, you're giving the enemy essentially, breathing space. And if they're behind, they shouldn't have breathing space. If you're just full clearing and they're full clearing, you're giving They equal gold, which you never want to do when you're ahead, because any they get is going to be worth more than any gold you get, because of percentages. so whenever you're strong like this, you want to look for ways you can impact the map instead of full clearing. Especially since, in this scenario here, I can see my entire top side is warded. So even if I do get invaded and lose my camps, I at least know it's getting invaded. and I can account for that and do something else here. So, my bot lane just came out of base, fresh items, so they're also strong. So they're also looking to fight. Here I need to wait for them to push one more way before dragon. So I'm just going to take my red buff, and then we're going to look to do the dragon. And the reason this is so important is because we're both spiking. We just came from base. And the enemy has a very strong dragon fight. They have Lissandra, Rengar, and Ash Seraphine, which means Ash Seraphine should almost always have prio. So, if we don't take Dragon with this one timer, Ash Seraphine will always have prio, and then they have a strong 2v2 with the Slander Vengar. So, we have this one time to take it. If I was just to go full clear, my bot would never have prio ever again. This is our one window, and we're able to take the Dragon where my bot lane has prio. So instead of full clearing, I just go straight to the Dragon. And if there is a fight, I'm strong here because I'm on Item Spike, and so is my bot lane. So it's actually a decent fight. And then I can fast forward. So then Rengar ends up ganking my bot lane. I kill him. And then I'm recalling again because I have a decent buy here of 1500 gold. And it's going to be the same thing essentially here. I'm not just going to full clear. There's no reason to just full clear, right? I'm very strong. I have full item. I just bought 1500 gold worth of items. And top's kind of overextending here. So I'm just going to sprint straight top. And we don't end up killing, but we do get his ult and his flash. That's pretty worth. Could have honestly killed him if I Thresh missed his hook. It's a bit unlucky. But the point is. The point is to just not folklore. and I still get my camps guaranteed, and the most Rengar could take is just my raptors. I know he can't take my top side because I'm top side right. So the most I can lose is my raptors. And it's always worth it to just go for the kill top. If I lose my raptors now, it's earlier in the game, and it's a lot harder to break your full clear because you do get punished more. Because one, it's harder to kill people because have less items, less damage, less cooldown stuff like that. It's harder to farm it takes longer. So more camps, you're more your camps are sitting the longer it's going to take for you to clear them. And then, if you do lose camps early game, it snowballs way harder. So I'd say once you get your upgraded Smite, like your Rainbow Smite, like your first upgraded Smite, that's when it's a little bit easier to skip camps. You basically don't really want to break your full clear aside from that. But once you get your first item, for sure, you want to be skipping camps to look for proactive plays. You don't have to go for plays just to go for plays, but you should be looking for that. So I hope that was pretty helpful. Whenever he returned home at night, he would tell us that it no longer seemed like a student protest and that many anti-social elements had infiltrated it. The very next day, on July 25, my father was dragged by a violent mob and was almost lynched near the stage at Jantar Mantar. At around 2 pm, he was admitted to RML Hospital, where he remained unconscious for nearly four hours. At around 10 pm that night, my father's colleagues brought him home. His uniform was completely soaked in blood. Seeing him in that condition was extremely painful for us. When we asked him what had happened, he simply said, 'It's nothing. Minor injuries are part of the job.' But he had four stitches on his head, which was far from a minor injury. That night was extremely difficult for our family. When I opened social media, I saw people calling my father a criminal. The next day, I learned that the people who had attacked my father were approaching the Supreme Court to seek relief for themselves and to file complaints against the police personnel. That hurt me deeply. I felt that I, too, should go and seek justice for my father. Other police families stood with us. We went to the Supreme Court and requested our advocate to present our side before the Supreme Court. SHE'S DONE!!! Mario Kart 64 for the Sega Dreamcast is officially ready for public consumption, so here's a full 6+ minute video of gameplay, captured straight from my actual DC! Jnmartin has done it again! The footage you are watching shows every GP course in the game, including multiplayer footage as well. Yes, you can also save and load ghost files from the VMU! As this is our first release, I'm sure you will run into a minor bug here or there, especially given neither one of us could stress test 4 player very effectively using our hands and feet to drive... So be sure to open tickets for any minor issues you find... assuming you're playing on REAL HARDWARE. I can already tell you right now, emulators are having issues with this one! This was my first time getting to directly contribute to a jnmartin N64 port, and it was an absolute honor for me to be involved with his incredible work. There is nobody else who I have ever met with the cross-architecture knowledge of BOTH the Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo 64, combined with the raw grit, tenacity, and attention to detail required to pull this off and do the source material justice. Not only did I get to take my SH4ZAM library for DC math gainz out for a ride with MK64, but I also brought some new routines back from MK64 so everyone can use them! Finally, I got to be involved in laying the foundation for future jnmartin N64 ports, now that we have an optimized, accelerated audio and video back-end for various libultra functionality, including Fast3D. You can already see how much this has benefited future work based on how quickly jnmartin was able to get StarFox 64 up and running on DC... The man doesn't sleep, no. lol. I just wanted to thank everyone so much for the continued enthusiasm and support behind these ports. The support for our work and the Sega Dreamcast means the world to us! Thanks for helping to keep the dream alive! For instructions on how to build yourself a burnable CDI image or a DreamShell ISO for either your DC's SD card or IDE drive, please follow the README on the repository: NOTE: Windows users will need DreamSDK to build.
