Hi Paul. This cost $15. I’d rather eat the potatoes and onions. Thanks for the tip though.

May 2019, I had a single bristle make it all the way to my small intestines, it punctured the lining. Surgery to remove. NEVER use bristle brushes on the grill!

130 cases per year out of the how many millions of people who use wire brushes to clean their grill? Let’s say just 10m people use a wire brush just once per year to clean their grill. That’s .0013% chance of this happening. Now let’s say on average those 10m people clean their grill 10x per year. That’s .00013% chance of this happening in a year. Let’s say over the lifetime of the grilling say 50 years. That’s .0000013% chance of this happening to you. Meaning you’re 50x more likely to be struck by lightning sometime in your life than having this occur. Save your potatoes and onions for the meal.

I use one of these wooden grill scrapers and it works great.

My top grilling tip? Skip the grill! Grills produce PM2.5 pollution that you inhale and leave tough-to-clean burnt residue on the meat. Opt for a cast iron pan or slow roasting—healthier, less char, offers fat retention, and easier to clean with practice.

It still doesn’t get off all the grime though tbh I use the wire brush then onion and wipe with a towel

We fish those out of people in the operating room pretty often. Have seen terrible things happen from them. Do not use those site brushes!

My sweet Dad would always use a good old onion to clear the grills and his BBQs were the best! :)

I know someone who was injured from ingesting bristles of a grill brush. Grateful to see this hack.

My friend had one found outside his intestines while they were removing his prostate from cancer. The nurse didn’t know what it was when he gave to him in a jar. We didn’t either but we figured it out. Absolutely true this is.
