When I got my first job at a restaurant in Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos, I truly understood what it meant to work. I had no clearly defined role. You simply did whatever needed to be done. One minute you were attending to customers, the next you were cleaning, serving, taking orders, or helping in another department. And all of that was for a salary of ₦21,000. At that time, it was necessary for my survival, so I embraced it. Looking back now, I realise that season gave me much more than a paycheck. It taught me discipline, humility, attention to detail, and most importantly, customer relations. It taught me how to treat people, how to solve problems, and how to serve with excellence. Many of the things I know about business and customer experience today were first learnt in that small restaurant in Surulere. Sometimes, the jobs and seasons we are eager to outgrow are quietly preparing us for the future we cannot yet see. #Tadé

#EastEnders Intriguing scenes at the Vic where Ned crosses paths with Alfie as the Hawkins family continue to settle into Albert Square. So this is the first time since 2018/19 that Ned Hawkins and Alfie Moon have crossed paths - this was around the time Alfie was with Kat's cousin Hayley Slater 👀 I look forward to Alfie and Ned sharing more scenes together - they seem to be getting on well already. I think this is definitely Foreshadowing that the Hawkins will become the new owners of the Vic before the end of the year and I can't wait for it. 👀👏🏼 The signs of Alfie and Kat moving out of the Vic have been there for a while and the Vic needs some fresh blood now that Alfie and Kat don't work at the Vic anymore. I wonder if Alfie and Ned have done something dodgy together in 2018/19 and this is what Rose might have a hold over on Ned? 👀 I get the feeling Rose and Ned don't get along very well at least at first anyway - Does Ned know the truth about Nicola's dad and what he did to her and Rose before he died? Jamie Bamber is a fantastic actor and I can't wait to see what he brings to the role of Ned Roper. I think he'll start to become a standalone character soon where he'll start to form connections away from Gemma which will be interesting to exolore as well. 🗣️: Tofu has already returned to the stars. Lingling: Ever since I moved to Thailand, my mom saw how lonely I was on my own, so she got Tofu to keep me company. We grew up together. As Tofu got older, one day my mom called me and said, "Tofu can't hold on much longer; she is about to leave us." During that time, my work was incredibly busy, and I could barely squeeze out any time at all. But I desperately wanted to rush back to see her one last time. So I asked my mom to gently whisper in Tofu's ear, "Can you wait a little bit for P’Ling?" The moment my work ended, I immediately caught a flight back. The very next morning, I flew right back to continue working. In the end, I made it in time to hold Tofu one last time. That was the first time in my life experiencing the loss of such an important family member, and it was the first time I ever cried that hard. This experience taught me one thing: I don't want anyone to ever have to say in the future, "If I had known things would turn out this way, I definitely would have done something." If you want to take care of the important people around you, do it now. Don't wait. Now Tofu has gone to a place free of pain, and I tell myself this every single day. Even now, when I wake up every morning, I still think of her. She will always be in my heart. 🗣️: (Apart from Char Siu) will you ever get another dog? Lingling: My mom says she wants to. Why did I move to El Salvador? Very simple. Literally my purpose in life is to uphold my responsibility as a father and cultivate the best possible future for my children, using the knowledge and resources available to me. To some people, that means stocking up on ammo and having lots of Bitcoin for the inevitable end of the world. But me, I prefer going down the path of lesser resistance. Why 🇸🇻 ? I see hope here. I see actual problems being solved for real people. I see a government with a low-time preference looking towards the future. I came here with the intention to build something beyond the scope of my own desire... and the results in only 3 months are literally palpable. The opportunity is fertile. Meanwhile, I've watched my home country/culture deteriorate over the last 15 years, along with much of the Europe I fell in love with as a young adult. I don't see hope there. I don't think I ever did. But El Salvador is a place visualizing a bright future and taking the steps to create it. I don't have to generate that hope & optimism, because it permeates the air here. I obviously don't know what the future holds. But in this place, in this moment, where women can feel safe walking around at night, the hardest money in the known universe is legal tender, and a shared air of optimism that is all but clinically contagious, I can't say I'd be doing my job well as a father if I didn't at least 𝘵𝘳𝘺 to make things work here right now. End rant. #beonnnie 💜: I have a t-shirt with a suit pattern printed on it, and I also packed that giant pair of slippers along with me. In the end, turns out everyone literally wore a real suit, paired it with boxer shorts, and wear slippers. I was like, "Whoa, The theme is on point!" Some of the phis brought fake mustaches, so we all gathered up. Then they were asking me, "Wait, how did you even find these in time? Where did you get them?" So I told them, "Oh, it's just stuff I already had at home." And everyone was like... "Yeah, we’re surprised by the fact that you just casually have this kind of stuff at home. Like, why do you even own these?" 💜: Okay, listen! All my friends bought those for me. That printed suit tee and those giant slippers, they were all my birthday gifts, okay?? That’s why I had them at home! I don't just randomly buy this stuff for my daily life. P'Ciize was like, "No, but how do you just have it? Why is that something you just casually have lying around your house in the first place? That's what I'm questioning." And I was like... "Yeah, true..." I made a mistake and I'm willing to serve a suspension which I deserve. I don't want young kids who look up to the Springboks to think that it's OK to eye gouge someone, because it's not, but unfortunately mistakes happen and I made a big one for which I'm sorry. But I'd like to answer the question - why did you do such a thing? It was a mistake caused by my reaction and other factors that played a role. Slide 1: The scuffle was basically over when Wales #7 struck me with an open hand to my chin/neck area, you can see me looking at the Assistant Referee and waiting for a reaction from him (it happened fast and it's understandable that he didn't see it) without reacting yet, I got another pull on my jersey, before I go in with the similar type of action. Slide 2: You can clearly see my first point of contact is against his shoulder with an open hand, just like he did, except he got me on the chin. Another thing worth mentioning, when he struck me, I was standing still with not a lot of movement or players trying to get involved. When I went for the same open hand towards his shoulder, you'll see 2 Welsh players changing the dynamic of the entire picture as well as one of my teammates pulling Wales #7 around his neck away from my hand and where my force is going. Slide 3: Another Camera Angle So why did I post this? To try and show people how everything happened and that it was never intentional. I would never do something like this on purpose, I know what the consequences will be after playing rugby for a few years. Thanks to everyone that stood by me and thought the best of me. I'm sorry for letting you and the game down. That was my first red card since I started playing. I want it to be my last. To the people that were angry and upset with my actions, I understand - because it didn't look good on the slow motion replay and hopefully you've got a bit more context now.
