$I’m posting this, why? I really don’t know why. Other than some idiot told me my leg was f***ed up, looked horrible, that I should wear long pants and should be embarrassed to wear shorts. I turned and quietly walked away. Still, it struck a nerve, it pissed me off. Years ago I took a boat propeller through that knee. I had bilateral tib/fib fractures. Had 13 fractures between the two legs. I had the whole death experience thing. It was a miracle I lived. I was not supposed to keep the leg. They were doubtful I would ever walk again. I spent 4 months in a hospital bed. Did time in a wheelchair. Spent over a year on crutches. Had a cane for a while. There were numerous surgeries. I worked my tail off trying to recover and return to normal. It took many years to get rid of the limp. I now walk without a limp. I run. I bicycle. I snow ski. And some idiot is going to have issue with how my leg looks? Well, that is just too darn bad. Go get a life. I’ll probably delete this in a day or two, but right now I am a bit pissed. Okay, and admittedly a bit bothered by it. It is amazing that it bothered as much as it did. Guess maybe deep inside I was remembering how it used to make me feel when people made fun of me back when I had a limp, and worse yet, how people (yes, strangers) would make fun of me in public when I just starting to walk and had trouble controlling my legs. So, really just venting, shouting into the void. That is all. I am sure I will be okay in the morning.$

I wanted to share that yesterday I was sitting practically right next to the girl who got Tae’s shirt 🥹😭 As you can imagine, she was in complete shock and was hugging the shirt as if it were the most precious thing in the world (which it was) 💗 She was Asian and didn't speak Spanish. Several people were taking photos of her, but I just looked at her, smiled, and hugged myself so she could feel how happy that moment made me (I wanted to respect her space). She gave me a huge smile, made a heart shape with her hands, and gave me an OK. It was such a special moment 💜

If I talk about this, they’re like: ‘Why are you talking about it?!’ But anyway, shut up! Yeah, [it’s my life]. When you go through heartbreak, it is hellish. You can’t eat, you can’t sleep, you feel horrendous. You don’t feel good enough and you feel like you’ve been left for something better, or whatever it is… Then what makes it even worse is, I feel like the world was then looking at me, laughing at me. I felt embarrassed; I felt horrified. I had serious breakdowns. I did. Because it wasn’t just the heartbreak I was dealing with. I was dealing with everybody looking at me, and I felt ridiculed. I just couldn’t cope with it; I hated it. I was breaking down in performances, which isn’t like me at all. I was crying constantly. I think I was depressed… I know that sounds ridiculous! But I think it was this plus this plus this, and everything on top. It was like, I had to be there for the girls; I had to be switched on; I had to power through for Little Mix – but I also just wanted to be left the fuck alone. But I also was getting followed every two seconds and asked about it 24/7, and it was the headlines, it was everywhere, and it was a lot! Today I had my first demo drive in a Tesla. It was also my first time ever sitting in one. This was the first car I’ve ever sat in the driver’s seat of where I didn’t touch the steering wheel for over 20 miles. Before I even got to the car, the people who had demoed it before me were an older married couple who were absolutely euphoric. They thought it was so cool that the car could drive itself. The Tesla employee told me this happens all the time. People come back from demo drives and tell the next test driver that they’re about to have an amazing experience. Little did I know, I’d end up carrying on the torch to the next couple demoing it after me. There was a ton of construction where I demoed the car, and FSD handled the entire drive extremely well. And yes, it can go through a drive-thru and stop at each window. The only thing I had to do was tap the pedal because it wouldn’t leave on its own, but it was still wild seeing the AI stop perfectly at the second window and wait. There are a million things I could write about why a Tesla feels like a better car and how much more it offers compared to a regular car. But for now, I’ll stick to FSD. There were only two moments that made me a little uneasy. The first was pretty minor. The car slightly hesitated going up a driveway, but quickly made up its mind. The second was more noticeable. I didn’t realize the car was nagging me. Once I touched the steering wheel, nothing happened, so I pulled it right a little harder, then let go. After that, the car turned left and crossed a double yellow on a backroad. (and yes I know you can sue the volume knob) I’m not totally sure if it was trying to pull over or what it was doing. I wanted to see how it would handle the situation, but there were cars coming, so I took over and corrected it. One of the coolest moments was when I thought FSD was glitching because it came to a complete stop in the middle of a busy road. Then I looked around and realized why. On the right side, there was a bicyclist waiting at a yellow crosswalk. The cars behind me didn’t honk, and the Tesla stopping actually incentivized another car in the right lane to stop and let him pass. The car is almost too nice to pedestrians, because 99.999% of humans would’ve blown through that, especially with no flashing light. For 99.9% of the drive, the car navigated confidently and smoothly. It was a real “feel the AGI” moment. Please do not let the media, the general public, or anyone else convince you that this technology is just some kind of auto assist or glorified cruise control. This is undoubtedly getting extremely close to feeling superhuman. You still have to pay attention to the road, but after experiencing it myself, I’d be shocked if HW4 Teslas aren’t unsupervised within the next couple years. The car was extremely smooth. There was no harsh braking, and it even avoided something in the road that I didn’t see. Driving with FSD made me realize I probably wasn’t driving as well as I could be. Hopefully, eventually, everyone’s car can be as mindful as a Tesla. I’ve never seen a brand so far removed from the public’s sentiment. I’m so happy I ordered one.

I was riding my motorbike and I thought I saw a dead snake on the side of theroad. I generally don't pass up free stuff. Don't judge we're all human. Anyway, I stopped to collect my snake and it turned out to be a huge blue iridescent earthworm. It was not dead. It was the coolest thing ever and I was on the side of the road fondling it for like 20 minutes. The iridescence was phenomenal. The video camera colors are not as nice as the still camera but I assure you he was vivid.

I didn't hear Penny call my name at the finish line. And tjo shem she tried. I think I know why I didn't hear her shout my name.....My goal was an 11:15 - 11:20 finish. We started in batches of 3 and I was in the 3rd wave. Out of habit, I switched my Garmin off twice at a water point and forgot to switch it back on for a while. My timing was off and I had no idea what time it was. I wasn't worried as I knew I was comfortably ahead of cut-off. At 72 kms, I heard a fellow runner tell another that "We have 2 and a half hours left to finish. We will come in at 11:10." Silly me didn't realize that these were group 2 runners and they had started earlier. Which meant I had even more time to finish and I'd caught up with many Group 2 runners. I had judged myself according to their progress. As I came closer to the finish line I saw the Group 3 clock say 10:58:22. I was stunned, mentally frozen so I switched off and chased my bronze medal with 1 minute 7 seconds to spare. A 10:58:53 finish was satisfying.
