Ghazzy also has a good breakdown related to timelines and transparency here:

How long have you been in each country?

Hot take I guess but I'm fine with it. POE2 is everything I wanted from POE1 and I will literally never be going back to play it once POE2 is finished. They broke a promise, sure, but I also don't expect them to able to realistically dev 2 massive ARPGs are the same time.

Early Access is just a marketing strategy to double dip on the hype. GGG lied multiple times to their community for the almighty dollar. In an attempt to make Blizzard look bad they pulled resources just to ultimately disappoint their HC fans. It’s not like GGG is making multiple games. PoE1/2 are it. I love PoE2 and fully upgraded my supporter pack. This problem doesn’t affect me. However, I do feel for the core community of PoE. Just because you have the goodwill of your supporters doesn’t give you the right to take advantage of them.

GGG dropped the ball, they just weren't prepared and now it feels like we are stuck in this no content limbo with PoE1 on one side with it's vast flushed out endgame and endless possibilities but stuck in what could be a 10 month league now or fresh new PoE2 that is very fun but missing all the extra juicy endgame we enjoyed in PoE1

The problem is, POE1 is 10x the game POE2 is. The direction and ai procedurally gen giant no life maps 1 shot weak build need 500hours min no loot dark souls gameplay. Is absolutely shit boring. I get it's EA and not even beta. If this is the direction they've gone in pffffffffff

I can't play PoE without WASD. I'm not going back

I'd argue that if you really believed that a studio like GGG, no matter how player-focused it is, could sustain TWO live-service games, even if one was at a reduced capacity, you were already in a state of cope. GGG is not a AAA studio, many of whom struggle with ONE live-service

Props for posting this on X. the platform is still in its infancy, but the whole interface is so clean that I fully expect it to take precedence over YouTube within the next few years. I’m excited to dig into your thoughts here, just wanted to say that right at the outset.
