Why Sweden, the country that failed to maintain socialism? Why not China, the one doing it successfully?

The Berlin Wall fell for a reason. It would be foolish to consider trying to rebuild it - and all it represents - today.

As long as "profit maximization" is the central thesis of capitalism, it will turn out the same. #FlipTheScript Job & Wage maximization should be the central thesis.

There is no going back. AI will change everything. We need more ideas of what a society with ubiquitous AI would or should look like.

you lost me at last 4 sec, I mean Sweden 60's? come on, that system can never work outside the Scandinavian countries (mush less so now BTW due to foreign invaders there but I digress) since they have wealth funds and resources the west does not have in proportion to their pops

You are one of few people who share my views on an ideal economy: A very strongly regulated socialist/capitalist economy with the necessities for a comfortable life provided by the State with a fun (but securely sandboxed) competitive capitalistic market on the side. Blackrock, Vanguard, and State Street own the western market so we don’t have a competitive capitalist market now anyway, and robots will soon replace human labor, so we may as well switch economic systems before the US becomes Gaza.

Sounds reasonable, but radical Keynesianism, would still automatically maintains fire-front of ecological and climate destruction that IS capitalism as defined by @GeorgeMonbiot and @jasonhickel A mixed economy is possible of public ownership, cooperatives, and small business
