⚠️ I can’t overstate how CATOSTROPHIC this Ice Storm could be if the models are even half right. 🧊The Model AVERAGES are showing around 1 inch of Ice Accumulation from Texas, through Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, and into the Carolinas. Some Models (like the generally reliable Euro Model) even have a crippling 1-2" of Ice accumulating there. 🧊 To put Ice amounts into perspective: 🧊0.25” – Highly disruptive. Iced roads, scattered power outages, tree and line damage. 🧊0.5” – CRIPPLING. Severe tree damage and widespread, long-lasting power outages. 🧊1” or more – Catastrophic. Infrastructure failure, impassable roads, and weeks-long power outages. ⚠️ This is why this setup is so concerning. A prolonged, multi-day freezing rain event would lead to disastrous ice accumulations. 🙏 Let’s hope the models are overdoing this, because if they aren’t, the South could be in serious trouble. Is Static Drilling the Kata of Jiu Jitsu? I have never done Kata, so I do not have a strong opinion on its value. It does look boring to me, though. Static drilling has some value, but not as much as live drills using the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA). If someone shows me a new move or solution, I will statically drill it 2 or 3 times. Then I will try to incorporate it in some live training. Static drilling makes up less than 1% of my training now. CLA will build your grappling skills faster and is a lot more fun.

As I, like many of you didn’t sleep as tears continued to flow through the night, I decided to take the last step on my journey to help save my county, state and country by filing with the Maryland Elections for my Congressional candidacy to run against Jamie Raskin in MD-8. As I’m already filed with the FEC, this was a decision I was pondering when I would go to Annapolis. I thought of Charlie. This is for you Hero Charlie Kirk I will carry on the good fight. ❤️✊🙏🇺🇸

Underwent a procedure to expand my maxilla via sawing my face in half Hopefully my maxilla can expand laterally and forward a bit so I can achieve some breathing / aesthetic benefits Shoutout to Dr. newaz in Miami for this! As a person suffering from sleep apnea this is life changing to do and will likely alter the course of my life for the better I can’t even breath most times through the right side of my nose. I have narrow nasal cavity and crossbite which is brutal We expandin n Shiet Follow other socials especially YouTube for future long form content of the process, instagram, and tik tok as I will be documenting the journey on there

I just moved to Berkeley, and unpacking was a good excuse to catalog the books in my library. I currently own 450 physical books, of which 18% are fiction and 82% are nonfiction. About 25% of my nonfiction books are about biology, which was surprising to me because I don’t really enjoy reading about biology in my spare time. When I shared my bookshelf with Claude and asked for recommendations, it suggested The Invention of Air by Steven Johnson, The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes, and The Metaphysical Club by Louis Menand. The first two were already on my list, but I had never heard of the third. Overall, I think a digital bookshelf is a useful way to find more books based on my interests. My full bookshelf is here:

•This photo was taken last night directly in front of Burj Khalifa. •The video was taken on Saturday in Abu Dhabi with my friends and children (Europeans and Arabs). This is not a defense of the UAE simply because I live here. Rather, I speak as a Lebanese political activist who was subjected to political detention in Lebanon by a direct decision of Hezbollah. I chose the UAE and the Gulf countries as a place of safety and freedom of speech (that I still deliver it on my social media till today ) for the time being, instead of Europe ( despite receiving offers of political asylum from more than five countries within the European Union and Scandinavia) which I travel only for vacation and despite my deep appreciation for Europe, as well as for the human rights advocates and politicians who supported my case there. However, I will not accept any manipulation of the “image of a country” where I live by my own choice, with my own means and work (especially as an activist who returned from my country, Lebanon, under war conditions less than a week ago) I will not tolerate media distortion when the reality is : security, discipline, and the continuity of peaceful life. Under an air defense umbrella that has intercepted more than 1,000 attacks, every sound in the sky reassures me that I am safe that I, my family, and an entire region stretching across the Gulf, the Levant, and the Eastern Mediterranean, are being protected amid ongoing threats. The Gulf is safe. The UAE is safe. Dubai is safe. I am safe( along with four children, my sisters, and their children who came from Australia) We all chose to spend the Eid holiday in Dubai.

I have my surgery in less than a week and I’m really nervous about it. Yesterday I had the first part of my pre surgery appointments where they did a bunch of blood tests and a chest x-ray. I had surgery before and they only checked my blood so I guess all the testing while good, does make me nervous 😅 I felt really odd shortly after they took my blood because I didn’t have breakfast so I had a really nice meal

My Bitcoin thesis is simple. The only thing I can currently see making Bitcoin bottom sooner is the passage of the CLARITY Act. If that does not happen, I think Bitcoin is likely to head lower. I already have a Bitcoin long from $58,000, which filled at the exact bottom. I will keep this trade open regardless. Even though I expect Bitcoin to move lower, I do not want to trade around this position completely. I do not want to risk missing the bear market bottom if Bitcoin bottoms earlier than expected, possibly because of the CLARITY Act. If Bitcoin does move lower, I have millions of dollars in orders waiting to be filled. If those orders fill, I will build what will be, by far, the largest Bitcoin long position of my life. Can you believe people sleep under such structures? As a journalist, I don’t stay in the same place and I’m constantly on the move. Yesterday, I decided to go spend some time with my family in Jabalia where we had tuna and mayonnaise for dinner. I went to the bathroom and saw the ceiling covered in mosquitoes and the smell of sewage was overwhelming. The living room has a massive column broken in from the neighboring building. Somehow my family is adapting to all of this. Sharing a small bowl of tuna, surrounded by a horrible smell, walls covered in mosquitoes and somehow they still manage to crack jokes and bring me joy. But still, my feeling of helplessness broke me. I couldn’t bring more than some tuna, I can’t fix a sewage system that was completely obliterated, I can’t protect them from the mosquitoes, I can’t rebuild the home. Every night, when it’s my thoughts and the buzzing of drones, I wonder if the house will collapse on my family. On my parents, my sisters, my brothers, our cat and its four kittens. I wonder if the house will get bombed while they’re all inside. I don’t want them to die without me. If they will die, I hope it’s on one of the days that I’m visiting them.
