If we had had a leader like PBAT, the defunct Nigeria airways wouldn't have been sold as scrap the same way we privatised other assets as scrap to cronies such as ALSCON God bless our military May Nigeria Succeed

PRESS RELEASE NAF INTENSIFIES AIR ONSLAUGHT, PUMMELS AND NEUTRALISES TERRORISTS IN SAMBISA AND TUMBUNS HIDEOUTS The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has intensified the tempo of its air campaign in the North-East, unleashing sustained and aggressive precision strikes that are systematically dismantling terrorist networks across Sambisa and the Tumbuns. Acting on credible intelligence, NAF aircraft struck decisively at insurgent enclaves, obliterating hideouts, crippling logistics hubs, and neutralising scores of fighters in relentless, coordinated attack runs. On 30 April 2026, air assets executed a high-impact Air Interdiction mission at Alafa in the Sambisa axis, where confirmed terrorist infrastructure and supply nodes were swiftly engaged and destroyed in successive strikes. Sustaining the momentum, NAF forces followed up on 1 May 2026 with another decisive assault on terrorist positions at Metele in the Tumbuns. Intelligence and surveillance exposed a fortified island stronghold with entrenched fighters, storage facilities, and defensive trench systems. With scores of insurgents confirmed within the target area, NAF aircraft delivered precise and overwhelming firepower, striking and decimating the location. The sustained intensity of these operations reflects a deliberate strategy of continuous pressure, denying terrorists any space to regroup or operate. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the professionalism and combat effectiveness of NAF personnel. He reaffirmed the Service’s unyielding resolve to dominate the battlespace, stressing that operations will persist with increased intensity until all terrorist capabilities are dismantled and threats to national security fully neutralised. NAF ALPHA JETS: A COMBAT LEGACY FORGED IN FIRE Inducted into the Nigerian Air Force in the early 1980s, the Alpha Jet did not merely enter service, it announced a new era of fast-jet capability and operational confidence. Conceived as both an advanced trainer and a light-attack aircraft, the Alpha Jet rapidly proved it could fight as fiercely as it could train. Its defining moments were written in West Africa, where NAF Alpha Jets flew decisive combat missions under ECOMOG, striking hostile targets, disrupting enemy logistics, and delivering relentless close air support in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Years later, the aircraft again projected Nigerian resolve beyond its borders during stabilisation manoeuvres in The Gambia in 2017, supporting the enforcement of democratic mandates. At home, the Alpha Jet became synonymous with speed, precision, and authority, shaping generations of pilots, dominating contested airspace, and projecting Nigerian air power with unmistakable presence. Rugged, responsive, and battle-tested, the aircraft earned the fear-tinged nickname “Dudu Birds”, a testament to its dark silhouette, sudden appearance, and decisive impact wherever it was deployed. As Nigeria confronted insurgency, terrorism, and armed criminality, the Alpha Jet once again answered the call. Re-activated, sustained, and driven into high-tempo operations, it delivered punishing effects against hostile elements, escorting strike packages, interdicting enemy movements, and supporting troops in contact with lethal accuracy. The thunder of its engines over hostile territory became a psychological weapon, breaking enemy morale and reinforcing ground forces with visible air dominance. This combat legacy was paid for with courage and sacrifice, and the Nigerian Air Force honours the gallant Alpha Jet aircrew who flew into danger without hesitation, some of whom paid the supreme price in defence of the nation, etching their names permanently into Nigeria’s air power history. Today, that legacy is driving transition, not retirement. The NAF is aggressively modernising its fleet, inducting advanced multi-role and lead-in fighter platforms to assume and expand missions once undertaken by the Alpha Jet, with greater persistence, sensors, and survivability. Through this deliberate evolution, the Alpha Jet’s legacy is not fading, it is being institutionalised, as the Nigerian Air Force advances from a proven combat icon to a new generation of air power, sharper, smarter, and deadlier in defence of the nation. NAF destroys terrorist logistics hub in Southern Tumbuns By: Zagazola Makama The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has executed a successful air interdiction operation against terrorist logistics in the Southern Tumbuns area of the North-East. The operation was carried out on Dec. 14 at Dabar Masara, a location identified as a terrorist stronghold, as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and supply networks. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the air strike followed credible intelligence indicating the presence of a terrorist workshop and sustained movement of armed elements in the area. According to the statement, the Air Component of Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai deployed an integrated force package to conduct coordinated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions alongside strike operations. “Prior ISR missions revealed repeated terrorist movement within the area, as well as a significant concentration of vehicles concealed under vegetation, confirming the location as an active terrorist logistics hub,” Ejodame said. He explained that further surveillance on the day of the operation validated the intelligence, with terrorists observed manoeuvring around the identified vehicles. “Following positive identification and in strict adherence to the Rules of Engagement, the targets were engaged,” he added. The statement noted that post-operation Battle Damage Assessment confirmed that the identified vehicles were destroyed and terrorist elements neutralised. Ejodame said the successful operation underscored the NAF’s commitment to intelligence-driven and precise air operations in support of national efforts to degrade terrorist networks and enhance security in affected regions. He reaffirmed the Air Force’s resolve to continue supporting ongoing counterterrorism operations in collaboration with other arms of the Armed Forces. DEFENCE HQ NIGERIA Nigerian Army

Four years ago, just before the emergence of COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns, my team and I attended the Aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO AFRICA) event in Ethiopia. It's remarkable to think back; at that time, the 7 Star Global hangar had fewer than seven aircraft types on its operational specification and capability list. Despite the challenging aviation landscape and the daily hurdles faced by young entrepreneurs in West and Central Africa, we have managed to significantly expand our capabilities. Currently, we boast a capability list covering over 25 aircraft types, establishing 7 Star Hangar as the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa. What's even more impressive is that our team, primarily composed of Nigerians, has successfully conducted heavy maintenance (C-D Check) on numerous commercial jets, private jets, and helicopters—including those in the Nigerian Presidential Air Fleet. All these aircraft are now operating safely within and outside Nigeria, free from any technical malfunctions or safety issues. This achievement is a result of the hard work of our skilled Nigerian engineering team and the grace of God Almighty. In the next few days, I'll be sharing some exciting news about our gains and achievements during the three-day conference in Ethiopia. As the former National President for Aircraft Pilots and Engineers in Nigeria for eight years, having worked with about six Aviation Ministers, all Aviation heads of Agencies, and airline owners in the last 20 years, and then establishing an MRO and airlines, I must tell Nigerians that my engagement with other nations and major aviation players tells me we don’t know and appreciate what we have as Nigerians despite our challenges in the sector. It's high time we showcase to the world what we are made of so they can respect us as a nation and reduce the cost of insurance, aircraft parts, and the higher costs Nigerian and African airlines, in general, incur to access services from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). I updated the Aviation ministry, and I am pleased that the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, FCIArb (UK) , is willing to support this cause. Aviation is not only being used by PDP, APC, or LP members alone but all Nigerians so I encourage us all to pray for her safety. so I look forward to his inputs soon as we engage further. Nigeria shall be great again. God bless you all and keep our airspace safe.
