ARIRANG TOUR IN BUSAN D2 #RM ending ment for BTS 13th anniversary. 🐨 Ok everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve felt such mixed feelings like this. 🐨 13… 🗣️ *KIM NAMJOON* 🐨 Thank you. It’s been a while since I’ve heard that. 🐨 Everyone…well.. 🐨 It’s been quite a long time, hasn’t it? 🐨 Honestly, it feels like just yesterday that we were in the practice room performing “No More Dream” and “We Are Bulletproof Pt.2,” but somehow all this time has already passed. 🐨 So much has changed since then. 🐨 We worked hard here in Korea, then gradually spent more and more time overseas, there was more English in our lyrics, and so many other changes happened along the way. 🐨 During that time, K-pop as an industry grew tremendously, and younger artists started coming to us more often. 🐨 They ask us things like, “How have you managed to stay together as a team for so long?” 🐨 They asked before we enlisted, and they still ask now. 🐨 But honestly, I don't really know. 🐨 I think I've continued to reflect on myself through these 6 members, and through all of you who are here and who continue to watch over us. 🐨 Unlike before, I don't really share my thoughts that often, and I don't talk openly about my feelings much either. 🐨 So it feels like it's been a while since I've said this to you. 🐨 Anyway, over the years, there was “Love Yourself”, there was “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life”, “Dynamite”, and so many things all the way to ARIRANG. 🐨 While performing “Magic Shop” earlier, the past 13 years flashed before my eyes like a revolving lantern. 🐨 Anyway, being able to be here together like this is truly such an honor, and I'm so grateful. 🐨 No matter where we are, and no matter what we look like, we'll always do our very best, and keep working hard to show you who we truly are. 🐨 I hope you'll continue to stay with us for a long, long time. 🐨 Thank you. #RM explaining why BTS chose 'ARIRANG' as the name of their fifth album. 🐨 When we reunited as seven again, we kept thinking about what truly feels most like us, most like BTS. 🐨 And we wanted to show where we started from. 🐨 All of us are Korean. 🐨 So we felt it would be very meaningful to include something that represents Korea. 🐨 That's how the keyword 'Arirang' came up. 🐨 Arirang is something everyone interprets differently, because its lyrics are abstract. 🐨 So I think about wistfulness, longing and love. 🐨 To be honest I thought a lot about those things when I was in the military. 🐨 Because you end up reflecting a lot on the past and on performing again, too. 🐿️ You have this longing for everything while you're in the military. 🐨 You yearn for society, the ARMY, you miss the BTS members, the past. 🐨 Arirang contains all the joys and sorrows of life, and since it’s been a long time since we released an album, 🐨 we wanted to encompass everything we’ve been through in our music, and we felt that the concept of Arirang could really capture that and tie the album together. 26.01.16

🐨 About the artworks... 🐨 I tried to keep this house very minimal 🐨 so I think I only got about 10 paintings. 🐨 Unlike my previous house, I wanted it to be minimal, calm, and dim. 🐨 Because as you live, adding things and filling things up is easy, but taking away what you already have is really hard. 🐨 I think it's really hard to do less, so I decided to start by removing as much as possible, and then fill it in later. 🐨 But in this house, the more I add, the more the interior feels damaged. 🐨 So I don't think I'll add too much.

Namjoon about Into The Sun💜 🐨: Into the Sun 🐨: This is the final track. The song was already good on its own, but during the concerts… that’s where it truly revealed its value. 🐨: Even today, just a few hours ago during “Into the Sun,” I felt so many different emotions all at once. I think a truly great song is one that can give you that kind of layered mix of feelings; joy, sadness, longing, gratitude, everything at the same time. 🐨: There are seven of us walking toward the sunset, toward the fading sun. But that “sun” is really the ocean of ARMY Bombs, fifty, sixty thousand fans. And during that moment, the lights shine toward the audience too, so you can actually see everyone’s faces one by one so clearly. 🐨: The slogans people hold up, the atmosphere… honestly, this is one of the moments I look forward to the most during a concert. 🐨: Taehyung worked really well with the other producers on this track, and from the very beginning we all said, “This song is too good. It absolutely has to be on the album.” 🐨: And Jin’s voice on this song is incredibly beautiful too. 🐨: For this track, I decided I wanted to write entirely in Korean. After working on RPWP and going through my solo projects, I had moved away from my older style. I stopped trying to write in overly literary or poetic ways, stopped painting elaborate images with words. But with this song, I wanted to return to that original side of myself. So I wrote lines about: “the hour when dogs and wolves can no longer be distinguished,” “the beasts’ compass breaking,” “human escape,” “rebelling in front of noise and regret,” “wanting to return to the home where you wait for me,” “the grass growing there, the stars fading,” “suffering inside the fire but still wanting to return,” “wanting to go back to a night where the moon never rises.” 🐨: To me, this song is a really good example of what this album became: it’s more polished and modern, but it still carries the emotional flavor that has always been uniquely ours. 🐨: And the hook; “Follow into the sun is something anyone can sing along to instantly. Just like “You call, I run.” I think it’s the perfect song to close the album. Honestly… I don’t think there’s anything I’d want to criticize about it.

Share it and we'll find a solution for it 🐨 Do you know the trolley dilemma? 🐯 Trolley? 🐨 It's like, I'm on a train, the one driving it- 🐹 Ah who you'll run over? 🐨 Exactly, there's different kinds of people and it's like between someone really close to you, a friend/acquaintance you love, and 5 strangers. You've got to run over someone, or like choose which way you're gonna go 🐥 There's a lot going on about it 🐨 There's no fixed answer to this, but it just reveals what your thoughts are as you debate on this 🐯 So, one thing I wanna ask is... let's say I did pick one out of the two.. what happens to me? Do I go to prison? I do, right? 🐥 The thing is, this kinda answer could imply that this is your personality/how you think 🐨 That's right 🐯 It'd be an easier choice for me if they say I'm not going to prison, right? 🐨 Alright let's say that you won't go then 🐯 No matter what I choose? 🐨 How do I say this.. umm, when you make a choice, it's counted as justifiable defense rather than self-defense.
