Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Pima County Sheriff Nanos gives update on Nancy Guthrie investigation Sheriff admits information being withheld from public, but for good reason They want to ensure they’re doing it right. -Not only to avoid arresting the wrong person, but to ensure they are able to properly prosecute... whoever was involved. “I believe, at some point in time, we will make an arrest on this case,” Nanos said. “And whoever that individual is, that individual will have a right to a fair and impartial trial.” He said they’ll also be able to take the DNA found, use it to figure out information about the individual, and then hopefully connect that to the countless digital pieces of evidence they’ve collected and catalogued. -And that’s why Nanos said he absolutely does not see this case as cold. “There’s way too much work to be done, that is ongoing, with some of the physical evidence we have,” Nanos said. “And we’re not going to give up on it just because it’s been 100 days.” -When asked if there was information they were withholding from the public. “Yes, absolutely there are. Sheriff Nanos answered within the time allotted. The Board has no legal authority to remove Sheriff Nanos since he answered timely. One member asked for him to be removed. It is derived from forensic analysis conducted by investigators over 3 days of "hundreds of officers" working the case. This is exactly the preciseness you would see when the source is digital analysis. This looks just like the chart I would have preliminary prepared based on known data. A ransom note was sent to a local Arizona news station following the disappearance of "Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie, the Pima County sheriff told CBS News. Universal Ostrich Farms Update: We are still trying to get a headcount on the number of birds here, it is proving to be quite difficult. The family is quite concerned, as are supporters. The CFIA will not provide a headcount and are not being transparent with the family or the public. The RCMP have stated that they have begun in an investigation and that the investigation is ongoing but they are relying on information from CFIA for their investigation. I don't know if there are missing birds here, but I think that the truth matters and we are going to do our best to get to the bottom of it. More to come.

JUST IN: Arizona authorities are investigating the disappearance of TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie's mother as a “crime.” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos says Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Saturday evening in her home. "We do in fact have a crime scene. We do, in fact, have a crime. She did not leave on her own. We know that," Nanos said. "Right now, we don’t see this as a search mission as much as we do a crime scene." Nanos noted that Nancy Guthrie is "of sound mind" and "sharp as a tack," saying her disappearance is not dementia-related. Her family says she was last seen at her home around 930 p.m. to 945 p.m. on Saturday.
