NASA's CapCom's are trained in communicating with astronauts, in fact they're frequently astronauts. This clip, however, show's that they're not DJ's, they have no training in "letting the tune live and breathe", or "reading the room". (From Christina Koch's instagram)

How come out of all of NASA's space missions in the organization's history...the astronauts can never seem to agree on whether or not they could see stars from space and/or the moon? They even get visibly uncomfortable when this question is asked by the public. Watch the body language of the lady on the right in the Artemis II clip below, and how the man in the middle passes off the mic like a hot potato as fast as he can. What is it about this seemingly simple question that always traps astronauts into contradictory circles? 🤔

As the astronauts on the Orion spacecraft prepare for the communication blackout that will happen when they loop the moon, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman says “astronauts are used to that going through training.” However, he’s keeping in mind “the life support systems on the vehicle, because it’s a test mission.” “... Most importantly, I’m thinking about the thermal protection systems and when these astronauts are under parachute, safely in the water, so we can get them back to their families.”
