Why game companies focus on graphics instead of gameplay? 1) the devs must show the game to upper management. They don't play it. They just look at the cut scenes. So to get greenlit you need cool cut scenes that the players will probably skip. 2) the game journalists who review your game only care about screen shots. They will play it for maybe 10 minutes. Superficial looks, not depth, is what they will review. I'm not decrying graphics. Great graphics make a game better. But game play entices players. If devs ignore management and journalists you can get incredible games. Remember Dwarf Fortress? And look at Fallout: New Vegas - really, kind of chunky graphics even for its time, but terrific gameplay. Also neaer-perfect soundtrack.

What’s the areas to get better on in the summer? My opinion we have to be better at being able to rebound, push, go into DHO, read. Cameron Smith says Augusta National is already pretty firm and he’s expecting it to be firm and fast at this week’s Masters: “I think the course is in great shape and it’s already pretty firm. It seems like the grass is really full. It’s always in good condition here but it seems like there’s just a little bit more grass. It’s just a little bit fuller and there’s no rain in the forecast so they can really do whatever they want. It’ll be firm and fast, I would assume.” He went on to talk about strategy in the firm conditions: “Just be smart and just play good golf. It’s a place where if you’re playing good you can be super aggressive and if you’re not playing great you’ve got to play really smart and kind of get to the positions where you can get it up and down. James Harden Postgame After Game 2 Loss vs Pistons: “[0:15, Offensive Rhythm] It was good at some points of the game, some points we were a little slower in which they capitalized off of it. It’s gotta be much faster consistently—[0:27, Down 2-0] They did what they did at home. We get an opportunity to go home & do what we’re supposed to do—[0:41, Corrections] I think our defense was really solid.
