Look at the numbers. After years of Tory mismanagement we are seeing The Labour Party get a grip on illegal immigration. Net migration is down 82% from the peak under the Tories and 67,000 people with no right to be here have been removed. Andy Burnham knows this is a critical issue to lots of voters and that’s why he kept Shabana Mahmood MP in post at the Home Office. Reform and the Tories talk a good game - but Labour are the only ones delivering.

Since Labour came to power, the illegal immigration crisis has got so, so much worse. The number of illegal immigrants arriving is UP 50%. The number of migrants in hotels is UP. The number people arriving on small boats and being removed has gone DOWN. Total failure.

Reform UK has said it wants to launch “the largest military operation in the English Channel since World War Two” to stop small boat arrivals. A Nigel Farage-led government would send the Royal Navy to intercept migrant boats there and return them to France or Belgium. Labour criticised what it said was a “reheated” announcement and said, “anger and easy answers won’t bring crossings down”.
