I've got some real concerns about the impact #AI #AGI and #ASI will be disruptive in a ways few seem to imagine. But narrow-use AI is pretty awesome.

The results show that NeuralGCM produces accurate weather forecasts, with performance comparable to or better than the best physics-based and machine learning-based models. It also generates realistic ensemble forecasts and can simulate the climate system, including seasonal cycles and emergent phenomena like tropical cyclones, with high fidelity. full paper:
