William lowers his phone.) William: Do you know what I like most about this trip? Est: The food? William: You. Being able to walk next to you without a schedule. No stage. No noise. Est: Then why do you keep filming me? William: Because I don’t want to forget this version of you. (Est turns to face him fully now.) Est: And if we forget? William: Then we come back. Est: Just like that? William: Just like that. (They stand close, close enough to feel warmth.) Est: Italy makes people bold, huh? William: No. It just makes honesty easier. (William reaches out, brushing Est’s hand.) William: Stay with me for this moment. Est: I never left. (William leans in slowly, giving Est time. Est closes the distance himself.) (A soft kiss, unhurried, certain, like it’s been waiting all day.) William: …Yeah. Est: Yeah. (They stay there a little longer, foreheads touching, the city moving gently around them, like it knows not to interrupt.)
