Interesting story… brings the nostalgia of my childhood late 80s/early 90s. One can see How things have changed in music and broadcasting since then.

This is more than a myth though! That’s some legendary stuff right there!

Eddie Quansah, the Highlife musician is not the same as the one being referred to here. The former is Ghanaian, I met him when he toured Nigeria in the early 80s. Bob Allen was the nickname of Raphael Amarabem, leader of Peacocks, who learnt guitar in Ghana before returning home

, this myth makes some sense. I have also been introspecting for a long time why Ghanaian-born musicians could speak and sing fluently in the Igbo language those hey days? Their genre was popular in Onitsha and Aba those hey days, and still popular in Onitsha to date. From Edu Ghana to Chief Sammy Kofi to the Canadoes Super Stars Band of Ghana to Pryce Armah. Any back story?

We need to bring history not just history but our history, our heritage, our root, our identity back to our educational system. I am not talking about the enforced colonial history. We must bring back our real memories to the generations coming, if not, our root will be erased

The song Eddie Quansa was made popular by Mazi Ukonu of Ukonu's club, he is over 90 years today. Who still remembers Ukonu's club in NTA. I think of him as our version of Don Cornelius. A great socialite back in the days.
