Yeah, he used to be really funny but now he’s very psychotic and anti-American.

“I would say don't take advice from people like me who have gotten very lucky... Taylor Swift (or Jim Carey) telling you to follow your dreams is like a lottery winner telling you, 'Liquidize your assets; buy Powerball tickets, it works!” - Bo Burnham on Conan O’Brian June 2016

That's a good reminder to be brave and go for it

He never talked about the other 9,999 fathers that gave sound advise to their kids who didn’t become a famous comedian actor. 🤡
I heard a Priest say about a month ago that Jesus does not want us to pray to him to save us when we are scared. Jesus wants us to pray to him so that we never have to be scared again.

Do what you love if you fail at it you'll be satisfied that you chose it but if you fail at what you hate that will be the greatest tragedy ever

This scene feels different depending on what chapter of life you’re currently in.

Jim makes a good point but we must also not live in fear of failure regardless of if it’s something we want or not. Fear spending your entire life succeeding at things that don’t really matter.

We miss Jim Carrey days of Oscar, who kept things normal-ish and down-to-earth decorum

I used to like him, and his comedy, until he became just another woke liberal washed up activist " entertainer "

Sound advice, I spent my life working a low paying mediocre job because I thought it was more important to have security. Wish I would have heard this years ago.

Hollywood isn’t exactly famous for making sane, happy, emotionally, and spiritually fulfilled individuals. Think about that when you decide you have to chase your dreams. I’m not saying you shouldn’t but you can be very happy doing something normal

This is powerful advice.

Love this. It doesn’t matter if you like JC or not: the message from the entire commencement speech here resonates. I’m retired now (art teacher- graphic design) and since I first saw this in 2014 I showed the 9 minute version of his speech to each of my vis com classes.

Chasing such an elusive goal can lead to a lifetime of waste and severe disappointment. You can in fact be very happy and very successful as an accountant. In fact, it’s one of the jobs that is most likely to make you a millionaire. Hollywood isn’t famous for making sane people

Mine too

'Sounds' inspirational but getting fired from a job is not failure whether you love the job or not.

Aaaaaaannnndddd…THIS is why we have so many baristas with doctorates in basket weaving and transexual liberalism studies of the Oompa Loompa tribe of the Congo. Find something practical that you find passion and maintain hobbies that you love.

The hindsight of survivorship bias

He looks better with a bur

My old man was in a blue light job, but after retirement started painting art for free, going back to his boyhood hobby. Neither paid well. But we learnt never to trust police.

So true how heartwarming Was that 🥰

I have a succeeded in a safe job I love and on Tuesdays my co-worker brings her dog to work.

I failed at that to so now what!?

First, do something that will make you money, and then do what you enjoy in your free time. If you do it the other way around, you'll have neither joy nor money.

This is terrible advice

my brain just rebooted

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Then they replaced him.

He's just plain tedious...

Oooookay. CPA with tough life oookay.
I also tell my kids to establish a career and pursue things that make sense , that are viable. Then you can also pursue with your spare time many of the causes you are passionate about. You may be able to have more impact because you are not strained for money. Y

I needed that today. Thank you!

At least he had a father. Blacks……..

Needed to hear this today. Incredible reminder. ✨
