Never seen academy this empty on an inauguration day.

When some entity is beyond rescue, it should be discarded. The Music Academy is now in that stage. Another entity can take its place very quickly. (Of course, I don't live in Chennai.)

Delighted. Every serious music lover who is equally serious about his Hindu faith should never attend a session at the Academy regardless of the quality of the artiste. All these artistes are available in other Sabha and we can appreciate them there.

Yup. Happen to be there yesterday evening and there were hardly 70-80 patrons in the balcony for Ashwath's concert and there were 4 cars parked inside the premises besides Murali's. And the canteen was deserted.

Atleast Rasikas have some spine! Institutions either grow in stature or get into a state of decadence. MA and it's office bearers have chosen the latter. The current controversy around MA has brought all Sabhas on equal footing. It's good news for other Sabhas.
