Chain logging. Tie an old anchor chain between two dozers and take off.

A practice that's not at all uncommon in Brazil—search on YouTube for "correntão".

Still need to run saws, but you don’t have to worry about any tree strike fatalities.

My 90 year old Dad says this was common in Texas with Mesquite trees. Because of the knarly branch structure, “chaining” tended to uproot them vs just knocking them over.

I've done this. Smaller trees, but chain was also smaller Older tractors = ton of torque. Chain isn't braking ever. = Tree is variable that gives way Sure, there are stumps in ground, but that's not too hard to fix.

someone watched a snapped aircraft carrier arresting cable cut 12 men in half at once and thought what if we do that on my ranch and then stole the anchor chain to make it happen

You end up getting trunks with crazy tensions and cracks in them, so the cleanup after this is dangerous and you can’t do much but burn the wood

Funny how here and on other platforms everyone gets excited about what folks do on private property. I just cleared 100 acres and removed the stumps to put in blueberries and Christmas trees next year. Folks get mad but rush out to buy live trees and food off the shelves.
