Yeah those companies aren't going to delete the data. It will be stored in the cloud somewhere as they show they've removed the data from local servers.

In order to check that data has been deleted, the government will have to be allowed access to the data. The delete act is just a ruse to give the government access to your data.

Government is always broken. I go through whole process and put in my SS# and CA driver's license and the correct changed address (my mailbox place closed) and they "cannot verify" that I'm a CA resident. SINCE THE 1990s! And you can't click through on the supposedly clickable link.

California is locking the front door while the federal government has the keys to every gate—and they're not asking permission. Enjoy the illusion of privacy while it lasts. The surveillance state doesn't care about state-level legislation.

What it's really designed to protect is the data of the rich and powerful. It's just another avenue to destroy evidence of their wrongdoing and corruption.

All these companies make money from my information but If I use the companies info in the same manner I could be arrested or sued

I just started emailing every company where I have been forced to create an account on to do business with them. Nearly all seem to be complying by asking for my Phone number and confirmation of the state I reside in. Some company is selling my data; 30-days of VM.

Where does the money collected via these fines go ? How much is for the individuals whose data is the subject ?

If it was about our privacy we'd get the money for the violation not the government

But, it's still ok for the state to keep all your voting data when you've been dead for 10 years.

So the government can collect all your data but a parent can't get the medical records of a 13 year old without consent from the 13 year old

So they copy the data to a data-farm outside of CA and then wipe everything in CA. Done, complied with CA law but they still have everything on everyone.

Don't trust California. When you log on they ask for MORE personal information, which tells me they're gonna sell it 🤣😂🤣😂
