@coinbase Coinbase did great at differentiating Bitcoin from Zcash using the http and https analogy. I started paying attention to the Zcash ecosystem a few days ago and truly I love the story behind it. I think it has the potential to grow and become symbolic just like Bitcoin.

Then why did they spend the last decade (throughout all of which zcash existed) telling us that Bitcoin was the best thing since sliced bread? Oh, and that absolutely everything else is a "shitcoin." Crypto-bros are growing tired of BTC's poor performance and are trying to cycle the idiot masses into the next speculative bubble. Obviously, that's all this is.

@coinbase The encryption angle misses the point - privacy coins solve the wrong problem. Banks already give you transaction privacy. The real innovation would be making transparent blockchains useful for normal people who don't want their salary public.
