The DPDP Act's provisions, particularly Section 44(3) and the powers of the Data Protection Board, pose significant risks to the RTI Act's effectiveness, potentially undermining democratic accountability. The Modi government's approach is seen as prioritizing control over transparency with the fines and centralized authority likely to freeze public access to information.

@poornibv Hypothetically speaking, if another coalition that includes TMC, comes to power at the centre in the 2029 elections, will that coalition then rollback/repeal/amend these laws?

Appreciate you @AITCofficial team for following up this issue constantly. Need to protect #RTI Act. #PrivacyMatters but data of public is sold (wholesale rate). #aadharcard @raghav_chadha also raising valid concerns #DataPrivacy #Privacy

Whats the logic behind exorbitant fines imposed on anyone holding data? There can be rules framed around limit data processing to specific purposes, establish secure storage and data breach protocols etc..right to information is fundamental.

@kharge @yadavakhilesh @yadavtejashwi almost everyday a act/law/process EXECUTED to REVERSE castebased freedom earned@26-1-50 pls ACCEPT- 1 NATION 1 PARTY is ACHEIVED& that party is RSS i.e 3caste its OVER & commonman KNOWS it as@2014 he was 1st one in line slavery restored

@MahuaMoitra, this raises significant concerns about transparency and accountability.

One can watch Secret City on Netflix wherein government criminalises any act of citizen that tries in any way to expose the criminal conduct of the government. Though the series is based on australian govt, my congratulations to @PMOIndia

@MahuaMoitra @RahulGandhi @ArvindKejriwal, will you embrace the opportunity to reverse these changes if and when you come to power? Will your manifesto inspire hope and progress leading up to the elections?

@Grok What is the need of such an act in a democratic country? Will BJP get any political benefit from this act?

Freedom behind unbreakable ,transparent glass panels.
