"The survivors and the American people deserve full and complete transparency," Jeffries said. GOP leaders in the House plan to hold a vote Tuesday on legislation to force the full release of the Justice Department's files on Epstein. In a reversal on Friday, President Trump said House Republicans should vote to release the files, a move he had previously opposed, at times calling the Epstein scandal a 'Democrat hoax.'

New photos and documents in recent weeks have offered some glimpses of their relationship, which has come under renewed scrutiny in the push for the government to release the information it has about the Epstein investigation. Trump and Epstein were at one point friends. Trump traveled on the disgraced financier’s jet at least eight times in the 1990s, at one point calling Epstein a “terrific guy.” But, the two had a falling out in the early 2000s. Trump has never been accused of any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein’s yearslong sex trafficking scheme. As a candidate, Trump called for the release of the Epstein files. Jeffrey Epstein survivor Marina Lacerda called on the federal government to release documents related to the case, saying it could help her piece her life back together. "The government is still in possession right now of the documents and information about that could help me remember and get over all of this maybe, and help me heal," she said Wednesday at a news conference on Capitol Hill. "They have documents with my name on them that were confiscated from Jeffrey Epstein's house and could help me put the pieces of my own life back together." Lacerda, who was identified as the "Minor-Victim 1" in the 2019 indictment of Epstein, spoke publicly about her experiences with Epstein. She provided critical information that led federal prosecutors to charge Epstein with sex trafficking of minors and put him in jail. "I feel empowered knowing that the little girl struggling to get by at 14 and 15 years old finally has a voice," she said. Lacerda's comments come one day after the House Oversight Committee released more than 33,000 pages of files and media related to the U.S. Justice Department's investigations into Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Most of the information the committee posted is already available or publicly known. Congress and the Trump administration have faced mounting pressure to release more documents related to the case. Democrats and some Republicans are working to hold a vote on the House floor on a bill to require the Justice Department to release files related to the investigation.

After Epstein was arrested in 2019 (by Trump's FBI), the media started going after Trump's Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta. He was one of the people responsible for Epstein's sweetheart plea deal in 2008. Trump was asked about Acosta a few days after Epstein's arrest. He said that he didn't know much about the deal but that they would look into it, that he had met Acosta after he became President, and that he hadn't spoken to Epstein in approximately fifteen years. To show how ridiculous this has become, we have Democrat politicians and MSM stating as fact right now that Trump spent Thanksgiving in 2017 with Epstein. They are lying and they do not care. We have reached a new low right now in politics and in media. Shortly after, at Trump's behest, Acosta gave an hour long press conference to explain what happened with the plea deal. Acosta said repeatedly that he was very happy that Epstein was behind bars and would be spending the foreseeable future in prison. The media was not satisfied with Acosta's press conference so Trump and Acosta held a joint press conference to announce his resignation. At no point did Trump appear to be covering up anything with the case. He encouraged reporters to find out who went to the island with Epstein. It's also worth noting that at anytime during the Obama administration Epstein could have been arrested but he was not until Trump became President.
