This is the moment an Armed Response Team was rammed while trying to stop a stolen car last night in west Belfast. The car was stolen at 1am in Ards before appearing on the Falls Road. The driver, a man aged 29, and his two male passengers, aged 30 and 35, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences including aggravated taking and driving away and causing damage to a vehicle. The driver was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and driving with excess alcohol in breath. They remain in custody at this time. Belfast Telegraph

Ahmed Hemedan was in the car with his sister in Albany, New York, when he allegedly started strangling her. She then drove her car into the Corning Preserve Boat Launch, and allegedly Hemedan pulled her out of the car and tried to drown her. A good Samaritan saw this happening, rescued her from the water, and gave her CPR until police arrived. She was treated by emergency medical providers before being transferred to Albany Medical Center in stable condition. Hemedan is being held without bond after pleading not guilty to attempted murder.
